Chances?

<p>I applied to UMiami yesterday, and good lord does it look like an amazing school - academically, socially and geographically. So I was wondering what kind of shot I'd have at actually getting in/getting scholarships.</p>

<p>I go to school in Canada (so understandably I want to escape this awful weather!) but I'm a U.S. citizen.</p>

Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Filipino
GPA: 95%
SAT Reasoning Single Sitting: 1420 / 2220 (750 CR, 670 M, 800 W - Damn, they don't look at writing)
SAT Reasoning Superscore: 1440 / 2240 (750 CR, 690 M, 800 W)
SAT IIs: 750 US History, 760 Lit (Do they look at these at all?)
Class Rank: 1/92</p>

My school offers only one AP, that being European History, which I plan to take next year.</p>

Essay: Slightly risky topic, but well-writen.</p>

<p>My awards are really only limited to school awards, but it's rather hard to win provincial awards in Canada.</p>

<p>I'm wondering if my lack of volunteer experience will hurt me at all...</p>

<p>^Thank you for chancing me. I would chance you for those schools—I really would—but in truth, I know next to nothing about WashU, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.</p>

<p>So, does anyone think I have a chance at a scholarship? Or not? Ugh, cannot believe they don’t look at Writing.</p>

<p>I’d be surprised if you didn’t get a 20k or 24k scholarship. Your class schedule looks impeccable, and the good recs will help. And I don’t think your EC’s are too bad. Good luck! :)</p>
