Thank you for your time and help. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

more important than your chances of getting in--

why do you want to attend?

what can you contribute to the community?

what made this school come up on your radar screen?

Honestly, I'd never heard of W&L until I cracked open the US News and World Report last year. That's how I began my search, scouring the rankings for schools I felt seemed like good fits academically, had low student to faculty ratios, small populations, rural settings, tradition/history, a solid list of programs, a location not too far from home but not too close, etc. W&L fits the bill, so far as I can tell. I'll be honest-I've never been down south and I don't know if I'll like it, but the pictures I've seen are very flattering and the material I've read is enticing. Also, I've met several Virginians in my life and all of them have been polite and warm; the kind of people I like to be around.

Why not go to Middlebury or some other liberal arts school of W&L's caliber a little bit closer to home? Because I'm tired of living in a bastion of liberalism and would like to be around more moderate to conservative people.

As for what I would contribute- a tireless work ethic, an eagerness to participate in school activities, a love of helping my peers, and a never satiated desire to learn.

I think your application looks pretty strong. Better than mine was. Then again, the competition has gotten a LOT fiercer because of the Johnson scholarship. W&L has everything you listed as things you wanted in a college. Good luck!

p.s.- make sure your essays are good

haha i find it ironic that you're such a model student and yet you spell "colinization" that way, isn't it "colOnization"??

My name is "Colin", that's the joke.
