Chancing an OOS state applicant for IOS Engineering program

Hello everyone, I would like to know if anyone is willing to chance me for the ISU Engineering program. Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.2/4, weighted
SAT: 1900
ECs: No sports and no clubs(was in FIRST Robotics freshmen year), 210 volunteer hours
Course Information: 6 honors and 3 APs
Awards: My freshmen year robotics team won an award for the best engineering notebook design
Please let me know if I qualify for any scholarships. Thank you!

Bump…come on

what is unweighted GPA?

It’s 3.0 but I don’t understand why my school insists that it’s still out of 4.0. Do you mind explaining why?

They like seeing the honors classes but if its not out of 4 it doesn’t reflect the grades you got, that’s really only reason. They love seeing a challenging schedule which it sounds like you had. Your SAT is already above average for ISU, I would probably think about trying to get your GPA up this semester and applying second later. I live in Iowa, your stats are better than many I know that go there…still out of state though.

I would go calculate your RAI if you don’t know what that is. It is for in state students, but it still gives you a scope of where you are at. It is an equation you put all of your stats into, and if you have a certain number you are guaranteed admission. It’s not a for sure thing for out of state kids obviously, but it will maybe help you scope a little better

Exactly, that’s my concern. However, after figuring out the RAI score, mine stands 273, which is more than the entry level of 245. Anything more than a 245 is a guaranteed admission, or so I’ve heard. Are the standards any different for out of state applicants? Given the engineering programs are some of the best and ranked higher than my state flagship university, Rutgers, I expect it to be really competitive.

The RAI isn’t guaranteed for out of state applicants, but I still think you have a very good chance

Hopefully. Thanks for replying back!

Absolutely! Best of luck
