change of major after acceptance

I want to ask this today, but the admission representatives are busy.
Does any one know if you want to change a major within a school, should you do it after orientation or as soon as possible? Also, how can you do that?

Thanks for your response!!

Orientation groups are split between colleges, so technically if you’d be within the same college after the change, it probably does not matter that much. If you are switching between colleges, you definitely want to do that BEFORE orientation. As most people realize by now, you cannot simply request a change into a LEP program.

You could send an email to the office of admissions with your request to change your major from x to y.

Even within colleges, you’ll want to let admissions know ahead of time. There are different departmental advisors even in the same college, so you wouldn’t necessarily be able to meet with a different major than your official one listed in the university systems. I’d definitely contact the admissions office with the request to change ASAP, before you register for an orientation program.

Thankyou so much, astrophysicsmom and fresh42jazz!!!
