i got admitted to UCLA for fall 2009. I got admitted as a Global Studies major, and this was my alternate major, as i was a TAP student. My first major was International Development Studies.

What i am wondering is, how easy is it to change major once admitted? or even transfer to my primary major?

Anyone else want to chime in here… I got accepted as a psych major but don’t think that’s what I want to do. I’m pretty sure I read on UCSD’s website it was usually fine to change majors as long as it wasn’t into something impacted, but at the bottom of UCLA’s admission contract it said it’s unlikely it would be approved. help?

vazman, global studies is very impacted. It actually unfairly has become a very competitive major and last year was one of the 5 top hardest to get into I think number 4to be exact. How did you not get into IDS? are you sure you didn’t list that as your alternative? what was your major by the way? and were you tap or not?

yeah sorry people for the confusion. i mixed the majors up. i got in for my first choice which was for global studies. and yeah being a TAP student i applied for IDS as my alternate major.

Having been accepted i really wanna do IDS instead, so yeah…will i be able to switch to that major despite it being impacted also?

hey does anyone know if its possible to change from an anthropology b.s. major to psychobiology???..ive already been admitted for fall 09 and completed the minimum requirements for psychobio that were listed on assist.org but ive heard that ucla isnt big on switching majors
