If I got accepted into Davis into Engineering, and I plan to attend there but go for a pre-pharmacy route, is it possible to change majors into something like biochemistry? If so, how soon could I change?

it is very easy to change. you can change up until the end of your sophmore year so its nothing to stress about.

More specifically I want to know what is needed for a change from college of engineering -> college of biological sciences (biochemistry) or maybe engineering -> college of letters & sciences? I will be a freshmen this coming up Fall. People say changing into biochemistry is difficult since it is impacted.

I heard that I have to wait until January to change (2nd semester), but is there anyway I can change before the fall semester?

If you keep above a 3.0, it's pretty easy to switch between virtually any college. I'm switching from Letters & Sciences to Biological Sciences this year, and my major advisor said it'll be no problem. I'm not familiar with HOW impact biochem is, but usually the rule is if you keep a high GPA, they'll take you.

You do need to complete at least one quarter at our campus before you can officially change your major. Also, you should contact the department you are interested in changing into to discuss any requirement they might have before you are allowed to change.
