On the Northwestern supplement, you have to indicate which specific college you're applying to - is this changeable if you get in? I'm kind of interested in journalism, but I don't know if I'd want to major in that... I'm not sure if I should apply to Medill, or to the school of arts and sciences. Thanks!

Medill is very, very competitive an the likelihood of you getting in if you don't have an intense expressed interest in Journalism is much lower. WCAS is much less quirky in its admissions from my understanding. If you don't know that you want to be a Journalism major, apply to WCAS and you can always try to transfer in (though its hard). Applying to Medill on a whim is a very poor idea though.

It makes a big difference- you should apply to the school you want, and if you're undecided do Weinberg. Medill is one of the best j-schools in the country and you should only apply to it if you're serious about journalism, it's more competitive than the other schools. Similar to that is McCormick for engineering.
