CITS vs AMDA

Hi! I´m completely new here so hello everybody!
I´m spanish and this year I got a Fulbright schollarship to study in the States musical theatre, I auditioned for AMDA (got a 9000 schollarship) CITS (got admited too) and NYFA

I have a HUUUUUGE problem making my decision, I know I do´n´t wan t to go to NYFA because the program is too young and when I went there I felt like they were still experimenting my oroblem is between AMDA and Circle

Before going there, I was sure about AMDA, but these past two months I´ve been doing intensive research and not a single time I´ve been able to find a good comment about AMDA, I can´t find the reason why it is a bad school they just say it is, so I´d like to now the specific reason why (if somebody knows it) one of the things that I like about it is the housing, being spanish thinking that I have to go to New York to study plus having to find a place to live scares me a bit to death!

And the Circle, I´ve heard it´s an amazing school, but mainly for actors, I know they have the Musical Theatre program, is the one that I auditioned for, but I´d like to know mainly if they have intensive singing trainning because I´m interested in that too.

Thank you very much if you can help me with my decision, it´s become thougher than I though it would be!!

latuacantante - I would suggest you do a search of this forum and you should find some people that have attended or have kids attending AMDA and CITS that you can then talk to.

Good luck with your decision.

CITS has an excellent singing technique teacher. Really really excellent. You can look on their website and see how many hours per week you would spend in each class to get an idea of the program. It is a really really fantastic program and a yes – it is acting-heavy, but you would also get great singing training.

Also – Congratulations on the Fulbright. That is no small feat.

Congrats on getting in! I have heard wonderful things about CITS. Could you give the rest of us a little information on how your audition was. I am very interested to hear about the process of it all. Thank you
