@HuangoBango I’m really sorry about the rejections, I got 5 of them before I got a yes if that makes you feel any better! As for MGH, I just sent them an email much like I did with Dr. Badie and someone happened to say yes. I don’t have any connections to either programs nor do I have a lot of research experience, so I’m really not sure other than I made sure I sent super passionate emails. For MGH, I’m pretty sure name dropping my school played into it since we’re only an hour away from Boston and since MIND partners with Harvard (a lot of our students have gone there) they’re familiar with the rigor. Finally got a reply that looks auspicious!!! Okay so I’m from Northern CA–what’s the deal with housing.
I found a mentor who wants to host me in her lab! She isn’t wasn’t on the official list however so I’m not quite sure what to do from here.

@lpapadakis3 hi, i did this program last summer and assuming the policy is the same, PIs are not allowed to have students come in on weekends.
also, if anyone is concerned about housing, i can provide contact information for the landlord whom i rented under last year. her house is within walking distance of COH and you will have a room in a house shared with other COH interns. not completely sure if she has space available this year but it’s worth a shot?

ok so i messaged a handful of people with my landlord’s contact info. i dont want to overwhelm them so i wont be PMing anymore. but, COH has visiting doctors and researchers all throughout the year, so there should be many other rental opportunities in the vicinity =] sorry about this! best of luck getting a spot with a PI / housing.

I received an offer to work in a lab! I did not receive any emails from Stephanie Patterson about finding, but apparently, there is still funding available. Thank you to all of you who posted. This thread gave me insight into the process and helped me get through the emailing and waiting!
