I got a Clark Kerr triple!!!!That wasnt even on my top 5!!!DAMN!!! Does Clark kerr suck? Is it really quiet? How long would it take to walkt to Sproul plaza if you walk pretty fast? I HATE THIS!!

Be grateful. I haven't even recieved a housing offer yet. =

Same here. Clark Kerr is about...what 6 blocks from campus? I hear it's the best dorm in terms of...well, quality. Pretty good food too. I guess being far from campus is a bit of a hassle, but usually people say they get a pretty good workout from it. You can always try to hitch rides, bike, or whatever.

how long are those 6 blocks you're talking about?? do you think it would take more than 10 min to walk to sproul??

Chill out. CKC rooms are ENORMOUS - don't trip about being in a triple; you won't be crammed at all. A lot of students get screwed simply due to the nature of the lottery system. I got stuck in Foothill last year even though it wasn't any of my preferences. CKC has its quiet buildings and its social buildings. As I recall, CKC has a very large proportion of athletes, so they tend to be loud and partying all the time. CKC also has some 24-hour-quiet buildings. I will feel very bad for you if you end up in that. And it's not a bad walk - should be 15 minutes if you're fast.

Where The Hell Is Mine?!

strykur, they e-mailed them at 3:45 for Extension students.

Oh **** Oh **** Oh ****

15 minutes if im fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My life SUCKS! i hate housing at berkeley.

Sorry I'm freaking out ATM.

Strykur, your housing assignment came in.
It's a bus shelter on Shattuck Avenue.

... enjoy ...

No, it's a TRIPLE IN UNIT 3! OWNED SON!

haha, the bus shelter may be safer.
unit 3 can be a zoo!

(it would be politically inappropriate to refer to u3 as a slum, but that may be what it feels and smells like sometimes...)

I got Clark Kerr as well. From your experience...I marked on the housing application survey that I wanted a "primarily quiet environment." I wish the question didn't have such extreme answers (primarily quiet vs. primary social, or something like that.) Anyhow, I was wondering...with the answer that I gave, I won't definitely be put into a totally dead building will I? I'm sure I'll be able to make it no matter where I'm put, I'm just curious, though.

At least you'll have a big room... I just got a triple in Unit 2. Good because it's close, bad because it's 13 feet square. Damn. I attribute this ****ty assignment to the fact that I'm an FPF student, since I wasn't guaranteed housing anyway.

ok, we've had plenty of threads on this exact topic before. basically clark kerr is awesome so be happy. it's really only a few minutes farther than unit 2. those 24hour quiet zones are just a name - it's the same thing as a normal building. the social aspect of your hall will depend on the people living there, as it will in any of the units you would be living. oh, and i really don't think they read those preferences (like "primarily quiet environment) being taht sometimes you don't even get one of your top 5 choices anyway.

Vayerly, i got a Clark Kerr Triple and i would trade you for your unit 2 anyday!!!!

im bunking with saddam hussien.

I didn't get an e-mail yet...does that mean I am part of the 50% that didn't get on-campus housing?

i loved clark kerr...on my floor....23 girls and 9 guys...i loved that.....ratio but thast it. Showering and doing laundry with girls is definitly a different matter tho...
