I am surprised to hear that anyone has heard officially from BoCo. I was told that they send out emails to everyone at the end of the day on the last Friday of March. Perhaps the young man in question was given an indication at his audition that he should expect to get in? I have heard of that happening.

He just heard end of this week/past week-end from CMU and was accepted on the spot at his BOCO audition. That did happen to a few lalst year as well.

ttmom - Was this boy accepted for MT at all those programs? Or were any of those acceptances for Acting?

All were for MT.

p.s Neither he nor his parents are on CC though.

Apparently BoCo has told some people (my D knows of 3 girls who have been told these exact same words) "to expect good news soon" after their auditions. I personally would definitely take this as an 'being accepted on the spot", unless of course there is something seriously wrong with someone's application (i.e. documents missing etc.). BTW, these same girls have also been accepted to a myriad of other schools including CCM, NYU and UMich, and so I have no idea what this means down the road, because everyone can obviously only attend one school :D.

My D was told the same thing at BoCo but I am not counting that little chicken until I see it pecking at my mail slot!

Skwidjymom - totally get that :) and I would be the exact same way, however, BoCo does not have that reputation of "saying things" and then the rejection letter follows :). I guess this actually should be on the BoCo thread instead of CMU acceptances...

It seems that every year there are exceptions to the rule, as the info about a girl being accepted to CMU for next year last summer at pre-college attests. Some of these schools probably do not admit that they do take a few kids along the way even if their notification dates are officially "the end of March, the 2nd of April"...The particular young man I am referring to has already had some lovely scholarship offers with his "quite early" acceptances to some of these schools. One never knows what a particular school might be thinking ...as it is, as stated above, he can only matriculate to one school.;')

I think what we also need to take into account is the people who get accepted and do not post on this forum... so 1 person was accepted into the MT program but we don't know about the people who don't post here...

ttmom, are you sure he was officially artistically accepted to Webster? My d was accepted also with a nice grant back in January, but that's accepted to the University, not the Conservatory. It was even before her audition. I'd be curious to know how he found out he was chosen for the Conservatory. Thanks!

Sorry for continuing this discussion on the CMU thread, but I too would be interested how the young man was notified. My D was told at the end of her audition at the Chicago Unifieds that "although the letters don't go out until the end of March, she was being notified sooner... today... now that they want her. I too instructed her to not count those chickens before they hatch. So, we've been waiting for the mail to finalize this.

I think this thread should be about CMU. PM me if you have comments/?s about other schools bc this is the CMU thread.

Has anyone heard yet? I'm getting nervous

I agree with Bway Rocks. I doubt ALL 800 or 1000 or whoever auditioned for any of these programs posts on CC. Also there are people who read here or post on CC but do not post their acceptances. So there really is no way of knowing how many acceptances have gone out.

Admissions office said today that decisions will be released on 3/24. That does not mean MT or acting will not be contacted before, but everyone will know one way or the other by 3/24.

CMU has started to make MT calls - one of my students just got a call from Gary and got in!!!! :)

Woohoo, I tell you those CoachC students book tons of successes :D!

Did the student audition at the school or at Unifieds?

Chicago Unifieds
