We’re all excited
But you can’t apply to Yale and louisiana. Yale is Single Choice Early Action. You can only apply to Yale early.

Yale is icky. Might as well opt for Harvard instead.

CPUscientist3000 - You can apply to your in-state public flagship even with SCEA, can’t you? I live in LA. I thought the website said that… maybe not.

I think I have a new top school drum roll Tulane! Anyone know current students or alums?

Well I got into Tulane and seriously considered attending before I was accepted into a couple schools I like a bit more. It is a very excellent school, definitely deserves a top spot on your list. I have a friend who goes there, so if you have any questions I might be able to ask him for you.

I know someone who’s going there (Tulane) next year!

Yeah, I live in Louisiana lol. It’s a beautiful campus, my friends who graduated and went there have almost 100% positive things to say. That being said, it’s very business/medicine/law/etc. oriented, so if you’re an artsy/humanities type person, or if you don’t like a social scene like New Orleans, you might not like it.

I’m interested in anthropology with a dual major in chem/history/or a language. It’s such a difference from everything I’ve looked at, I’m even considering doing the ea first/top choice admission. Is the campus more traditional (bricks and ivy type thing) or modern? Is the campus really big or does it feel like a community?

^Well, it’s traditional in some aspects, modern in others (although more traditional than modern in terms of architecture). But it epitomizes the New Orleans atmosphere in my opinion - maybe this is just my bias since I visit there when I go to NOLA. I know that they’re very good when it comes to Econ and PolySci, but I don’t know anything about anthropology. I’d assume they were good though. What attracted you to it so much, if you don’t mind me asking?

^Why are you applying to Louisiana State?

My current, and hopefully final, list!

Boston University
Columbia
Cornell
New York University
Northeastern
Northwestern
University of Chicago
University of Pennsylvania

Depending on time restraints I may also apply to -
Rutgers
Harvard/Princeton

Sorry, I forgot about the applying to publics with SCEA.

Stary- I always hope my list will be final haha.

decrescendo:
I honestly am not totally sure why I’ve fallen in love with Tulane. I live in the northeast and had been looking at colleges in that area and the Mid-Atlantic, but I had gotten a letter because of the psat and decided to look into it. The school seems to have a good anthro departemnt with all four sub groups which I’m looking for because I’m not 100 percent sure which one I’m most interested in. I love the feeling I get just from looking on their website, the history and the community service are very unique. And New Orleans is an amazing city with a rich history, I want to feel like I’m at a college…that’s one of the reasons NYU and Northeastern are off my list, the city is the campus.

Wow, this thread sure makes me feel a lot worse about myself

My list so far:
UF
FSU
UCF
Mercer
UGA

I’m not reaching for the ivy leagues, just places I think I can get into.

Umass (Dartmouth and Lowell)
Fitchburg State
Franklin Pierce
Hofstra
Long Island University
New England Institute of Art
Umaine
U of Southern Maine
University College Falmouth
Delaware State
And MAYBE Colby Sawyer and a couple other state schools.

Reading CC is making me reconsider my list.

Anyways, can you guys list the ivies that have EA? I was going to do REA at Stanford but if I can apply to more than 1 reach school for EA then my stress level will be a lot lower than it will be next fall.

Colle- hey, whatever makes YOU happy. Too many CCers apply to like all the ivies. You can be successful without them.

Because I’m excited, I’ll keep posting my list:
