Class of 2012: Where are you applying to?

Early evaluation. It’s two weeks veer RD. but in mid feb they send you a likely, possible, or unlikely notice. If you get a likely, you’re basically in, but they legally can’t say so until April 1. It’s. Way to get their strongest applicants to stay interested

…so they tell you if you’re unlikely to be admitted? Talk about salty :(

before** not veer

and yeah, so if you dont wanna know, dont apply EE… but then its good to know too so you can focus on other things

SUNY Binghamton EA
Dartmouth RD
SUNY Buffalo RD

And maybe Ohio State just as a backup; just gotta figure out how to send them past SAT scores. Anyone know how?

The reason I have so few schools is because Arabic is a rather unusual major :p

what are you going to do with that major? as in a career? is the “job outlook” good?

So far:

USC
Vanderbilt
University of Pennsylvania
Lehigh
Wake Forest
Duke
Miami (OH)
Villanova
Washington and Lee
UNC Chapel Hill
Stanford (for kicks and giggles)

The goal is to eventually work for the CIA or other such branch of national security. Plus I’m a language geek and Arabic is a fascinating challenge.
As for job outlook, it’s always expanding. As long as radical Muslims threaten US security, there will be a need for Arabic speakers.

My so far schools:
Chicago (EA)
MIT (EA)
CalTech (EA)
Michigan (EA)
Georgetown
Princeton
Harvard
Miami of Ohio

I’d be really happy going anywhere; just to go to college is an amazing thing. Fingers crossed for Chicago or MIT though.

josh-- you should consider artificial intelligence.
my physics teacher got his masters in national security. it will help your govt job

APchemistry–fingers crossed for MIT (hehe i’m applying EA too), smith, and… whichever will give me the best FA :)

dancedancedance-what do you want to major in?

@dancedancedance: Yay USC, Vandy & Stanford :)

@CPUscientist: I’m thinking about majoring in marketing, business, or comparative lit
@Marinebio: those are my three favorite!!! :D

Caltech

Harvey Mudd
Stanford
Carnegie Mellon
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Georgia Tech
USC
UCLA
UCI
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

Yale (SCEA)
Harvard
University of Rochester
Stanford
Case Western Reserve University
Oberlin
SUNY Geneseo
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Stony Brook
Canisius (safety private school that i’ll get good scholarships)

I’m not totally done with the list, but here goes:

-Stanford
-Columbia
-Brown
-UC Berkeley
-UCLA
-MIT (possibly)

i’m really going to have to narrow down my list! applying to all of these schools is going to cost so much! hopefully the college tours will help…

@CPU: sorry i didn’t answer you! i’ve been SO busy these past couple weeks. so, MIT is your first choice? that school is so nice! i absolutely love Boston! i would totally apply there if i was good at math…but i’m not at all! lol

Haha it’s okay.

No MIT isn’t my first choice, smith is (hopefully the tour in a couple weeks will cement that in.)

But I do love the Boston area

Lol I’m good at math, but not MIT good… Oh well i still have a chance!
