as of now hoping
ED Columbia (toptoptop choice)
EA UChicago

when i get rejected/deferred from both, RD round probably
Rice
Harvey Mudd
Caltech
MIT
Cooper Union
Brown

Finally a threat that understands me! I can talk about where I wana go to college without being a senior and being all “oh I already applied”

Def:
UCF
UF

Maybe:
Syracuse
USF
UM

lol, no ivys for meeeee :P

laurentini-- my mom wants me to apply to yale ;/ it’s a good school and i love it, but i hate that she’s forcing me lol

No ivies for me either, lol. :D

Eh,

Millsaps (my first choice, but it all depends on scholarships)

Loyola

Hendrix

Macalester

No ivies for me, either. :P

Loyola new Orleans?
And Hendrix is close to where I live haha

Sent from my iPhone using CC

CPU- What do you mean by artificial intelligence?

from dictionary.com

basically computers/machines doing things that humans would do, ie being able to respond to surroundings.

No, no I know what AI is, but like how could that apply to a nat. sec. career as an Arabic translator?

oooh!!! well with national security you could get familiar with AI, and just have arabic as a plus. honestly, i dont think you should major in a language/culture. you should minor in it. and plus, anyone can learn a language/history of a nation

Yeah!
And cool, cool- I love northern Arkansas, haha.

Amherst
Barnard
Boston College
Colgate
Hamilton
Haverford
Geneseo
Swarthmore

top choices probably Swarthmore and Amherst tied, (hoping URM status helps me!) but mother is pushing Barnard b/c of location, NYC is only two hours away.
I’m sure everyone knows what mother are like… :/

drinksuited^^ oh yes i KNOW how mothers are -_-

and please don’t use URM status like that…

One time I was hanging out with some friends and one of them was like, “Imagine going to Barnard… you’d basically be a Columbia slut!”

Other friend: My mom went to Barnard…

lol

Anyway, for me:

Washington University in St. Louis
Emory University
Rice University
Vanderbilt University
Cornell
Dartmouth
NYU - Stern
Amherst
Williams
Swarthmore
Bowdoin
Middlebury

and some more…

bahahaha ^^^

awkwaaaaaard

honestly, I’m glad people pay attention to URM status. without the attention people have been giving poor Hispanics, for example, I would have absolutely no chance of going to college.
financially, I mean. my sister is a finalist for gates millenium, so thank god for that.

but don’t say “i’m hoping URM status helps me!”

that’s basically saying you aren’t qualified enough to attend without being URM. yes colleges give consideration to URMs, but it makes us all look bad when others depend on that to get them in.

I understand what you mean. On the other hand, I’m saying that I’m (academically) very well qualified to go to an ivy or similar school. what I was referring to is that colleges will note that I was able to achieve all this while not being affluent like many of my classmates.

on a side note, my sister is going to be a Columbia slut this year. I might have to use that joke on her hahaha

URMs could be affluent too.

i used to want to go to barnard, but it’s too city for me and i dont have money to enjoy the city with friends.

University of Washington (Seattle)
Seattle Pacific University
Washington University in St. Louis

Maybe applying to UChicago, NYU, some CA schools but I really just want to go to school at UW :)
