I applied for housing at Cal poly pomona… Wanted to chat it up with future potential roomies or Residence hall neighbors c:

I saw this and made an account here =)

I just finished applying for housing today. What was your choices for the halls? I put Cedritos Hall and Palmitas Hall as my first and second choice.

No way !!1 Your birthday is on Dec. 16? !! My birthday is too !!!

Same birthday how cool is that? I Put Aliso and alamitas because I heard they were the best ones … I’m taking a tour may 14 to see myself I really want a suite but can’t get one until all the upperclassman have decided whether or not they want to live in the suites :)

I chose the gray buildings because I read that they are new and red brick buildings are old and the rooms are somewhat bigger. I know !! The suite look awesome. I’m visiting over the spring break, not on a tour though, just want to walk around and taste their food haha …

My major is architecture, yours?

I have never encountered anyone with the same b-day, closest was Dec. 15

I’m a psych major… I’ve met a lot of people with my bday, but never a girl… I’m assuming Ur a girl? Lol

The pentagon shaped rooms are 3 sq ft bigger than the rectangular rooms but they seemed smaller for some reason

I went my sophomore year of highschool there and only went to the red brick dorms. They had a huge living room (I guess I’ll call it that :P) and everyone just seemed so happy… I totally fell in love with it. I heard Aliso is the party hall.

haha maybe it’s because of the shape that made it seems small or maybe it’s depend whether you’re looking at a double or triple bedroom? idk

Yup, a girl right here. You’re also a girl? :D

I heard that they only have one restroom per floor, is that true? That’s horrible, wonder if it’s clean o.O and I’m also wondering about the shower area.

Hi, kids!

Mom of a Class of '15 admit here … Civil Engineering. December 15th b’day (my son’s is Dec. 7th :-D). He’ll be rooming with a friend from his HS.

It’s fun to see all of your excitement. I’ve been through dorm life myself & with my older daughter. It is what you make of it … no matter where you end up. I had a crazy roommate my first semester of my freshman year. I just found other FABULOUS friends to hang out with. She flunked out (lol) and I ended up in a single for the rest of the year. It was sweet!

Enjoy all of your preparations. I’d go back and do it all again if I could!

I just hope I don’t get a roomie that doesn’t get along with me or like me I rather have an awesome roomie than a single… But hey if it doesn’t work out there’s a reason to have my bf around :P

That’s cool Ur son is rooming with one of his high school buds… No one I know is going to CPP… They all either want to stay in San Diego or out of state

Woah that’s awesome, a room to yourself. Don’t they fill that empty spot with another person?

Same here, don’t have anyone I know there. Still feeling insecure to dorm with a stranger o.O It’s April already !!!

I’m a transfer, so I get to be in the suites. I have already been inside one of them, and they’re pretty nice. It is practically an apartment.

A suggestion to architecture majors: My daughter is a freshman arch. major this year. While she is living at home (we live very close), she has friends in both the regular dorms and in the suites. The suites have several large work/study rooms that the arch majors have found to be the best place to work.
Freshman architecture majors do not get dedicated studio space - there is a freshman studio in building 1 but you can’t leave your projects there when you’re not working on them (upper classmen get dedicated workspaces in the Interim Design Center). My daughter and her friends (from the suites, dorms, and other commuters) all use the suites work rooms to work on their projects - the rooms and tables are bigger than the library work rooms and they can leave their work in progress in friends’ rooms. For those who work there, it’s easier to take a break and go back to your room, get a snack, whatever.
So if you’re an architecture major, and you can manage it, I recommend a room in the suites, at least for freshman year.

I am super excited to have a roomie… Just afraid we will be so incompatible… Hopefully I get an awesome new bestie lol… Suites are practically apartments… They are SO NICE… I want one

Another mom with a son with a Dec (15th) birthday.

Civil engineering, but hasn’t chosen a school yet. Visiting on “engineering day”.

Thanks for the advice, Zita00. I don’t think I’m getting a suite though -.- Can people who live in the hall use the work/study room in the suite? or is it only reserved for people who live there?

Woah another guy with Dec. 15 birthday.

I’ve met sooo many guys with DEC. 15+16 birthdays … A lot in the same hospital as me too

Shrinkrap - we’ll see you there… part of the CE family~!

I’m bringing my mom & dad, so look for me, my tall son, and two old folks. :-D

Orientation will be fun… We get to spend the night or two if we want
