Hey I have some questions I would like to ask you all, in hopes that you can answer them! :]

So I was waitlisted for CPP [Architecture] but I just got my acceptance letter today. I already put in my housing payment and all of that for CSU Long Beach but I would MUCh rather go to CPP because Architecture is my dream major. I don’t mind losing the housing payment for CSULB, though. However, I tried applying for housing at CPP and it won’t allow me to access a license agreement application under “Academic Year 2011-2012 - Starting Fall 2011.” There are housing agreement application links for summer and spring, but non for the fall term. Does this mean I won’t be able to apply for housing because I was accepted so late in the year? If so, that really sucks :[

Also, is the 100 dollar SIR [or ECD]- enrollment confirmation deposit- waived if financial aid is applicable to you? And is the 300 dollar initial housing deposit waived? If not, then I will feel horrible about already losing my 400 dollars to CSULB.

Another question: Is there a way to formally accept admission or do you just have to submit the 100 dollars?

Cal Poly Pomona’s process is SO much harder than CSULB’s was- but it will all be worth it in the end!!

Yeah I did that the day after I was accepted and the guy on the phone was just like “dude, wait a few days for us to process all of this and send you more information” hahaha.

I’m a current first year student at CPP. I just wanted to drop in and answer some questions you guys have. I entered with an undeclared major (in the process of applying to computer eng.) and live in the suites.

To the previous poster, bikes are pretty common on campus but keep in mind that a lot of the campus is on a hill. You won’t have any issue finding bike racks.

The last I heard from my advisor is that the major is not currently impacted. However this is likely to change for new students and for those that are transferring in for the fall quarter. I get to apply now in the spring along with others current students that want to change majors.

Do professors allow laptops during lectures? How big are the classrooms? Are they normal classrooms or similar to those stereotypical college classrooms seen on TV

I hope the classrooms are not all like the one we took the MDPT test in, I was surprised the desks were about the same size as the ones we had in elementary school.

I’m pretty sure it was a chemistry building but that’s just going off a few of the doors next to the one we were in that had chemistry posters on it…

bl4ke360: Definitely. If the classrooms are the same size as the ones that were used for the MDPT, I will be disappointed. The desk space is way too small…

Hey, I’m a christian girl and I’m looking for a roommate at Cal Poly Pomona for Fall 2011. Let me know if your interested jenna.lee.01@gmail.com

The class rooms I’ve been to have been pretty small so far with about 25 - 40 students. The desks are usually the chair/desk combo many people used in high school with the exception of lab classes. I believe there is only one lecture hall so most of your classes with be in smaller rooms. Laptop use is decided by the professor but it seems most are ok with them.
Once again, my advisor informed me computer engineering (not comp. science) is not impacted for this quarter (spring 2011). Once new and transfer students apply it will be impacted again.

My daughter will be attending as a freshman architecture student this fall 2012. The housing site stated that incoming freshman are assigned to the residence halls. Your daughter was in the suites. How were you able to arrange that?
