@TX2016 How did you access financial aid?
Wait so you guys were able to see your financial aid info? Because I know where you find it - you go to Finances>Financial Aid: Award Letter>2016-17. That’s where everyone in past years has seen their scholarships, but mine says that the information is not available online for me at this time. I assumed that because it’s still so early in March, that info simply hadn’t been updated.
@anothermuggle @TX2016 Oh My God! We are screaming in our house!! Got into the page! Was able to clivk into “Authorize access to my data” and see our names listed as parents!
@HappyFace2018 Is this financial aid??
I don’t mean to dissuade anyone, but it’s entirely possible that it’s simply too early to see if this trick works or not. I guess we will see when we get letters though!
@gonewiththeair You’re totally right in that this trick isn’t the most legitimate thing in the world, and there have been cases when it was “wrong” (people who couldn’t log in were accepted), but it has been pretty consistent in predicting acceptances for several years now. But I definitely agree that nothing is for sure until the letter is in your hand, though!
Yes, that’s actually how it worked for us in 2014. Could see financial aid and everything there prior to getting the letter in the mail.
@anothermuggle No. It shows the parent names who have access to the students information. It just doesn’t seem like it wouldn’t work if the student has not been accepted…but we shall see.
It wouldn’t let my friend make an account. But she says she couldn’t make one since day 1, but I also think that if she got in, it would’ve let her create one by now. I also explained to her that it doesn’t mean she got rejected because plenty of people can’t create one at first but end up being able to later on once acceptances come out.
I checked this trick last week and it wouldn’t let me make one, and now I can.
I hate this process.
Out of curiosity, will trying to set up an account now mess things up for setting up an account later? If we can create an account and then get accepted, will that information be updated on the student account created now or will we have to create another one?
I was able to set up an account for myself. I really hope this means that I’m in!
When I hit “financial aid letter” though it said “no financial activity on record” or something along those lines. I didn’t apply for financial aid but I did apply to honors college which comes with merit money. I’m guessing this means while I may have gotten accepted to AU I didn’t get accepted to the honors college?
I thought at first that this may just happen to everyone but if @eric2020 's friend can’t make an account then maybe it is a sign of acceptance? Who knows, really?
@gonewiththeair Not a pro at this but I really don’t think you’d be able to create and account if you hadn’t been accepted. Also, click on “Authorize Access to my data”. That should show your parent data.
My D is able to create an account as well, but agreed, nothing is 100% until that letter shows up. Between this, the “housing glitch” at UMD and Fordham’s “likely letter”, we have hives.
I feel like I should join this parade and try to make an account but I just… can’t bear to let myself get excited if I’m able to do so only to potentially be disappointed?? @eric2020 I agree, this is stressful. Anyway, congratulations on everybody who was able to make an account!!
In other news: the week of March 7th starts tomorrow! I’m holding out hope that they’ll notify us about the date early in the week.
How do you find your AU ID?
@HalfAButtonPress - if you haven’t already found it, your AU ID is at the bottom of any e-mail communication you have had with the school. It’s usually right under Greg Grauman’s signature. It might be other places too, but that’s where we found ours.
I was able to create an account but I couldn’t log into the portal. Like it gave me an email address for american it just wouldn’t let me log in. Does this mean i was denied? Or am i doing something wrong?
update: I was able to sign into gmail but still not the portal
