@biologylover If I may ask, what school did you apply to? I’m curious because I don’t think any engineering students have gotten a full tuition and Chancellor’s.
@JemmaSimmons I applied to dietrich.
when do we find out about financial aid? I got accepted like a month and a half ago and I still haven’t gotten any financial aid details - just my merit scholarship.
@shooting4stars, Financial aid letters start going out to those who have filled out their FAFSA in February.

@hailtopitt1787 When do GAP sent interview invitations
@rsmith0208, Most GAP letters go out about 10 business days after the Admissions letter. Our office is closed for the holidays until Jan 3, so you will want to factor that in if you are waiting on a letter.
Best of luck!

We have applied for GAP but wanted to know when will the interview letters be sent out?
@trackmbe3 My son has a 33 ACT and received an offer of Merit Aid from Pitt. I believe there were several others earlier on this thread that were under 34 with Merit Aid offers. My son’s merit scholarship is for $10K/ yr.
@paveyourpath
May I ask if you are in state or out of state?
I think this may be the first 33 ACT merit award I have seen. We’re tracking it on CC pretty seriously because we’re hoping DD’s BFF will hear something soon. We’ve watched the 36’s, 35’s and 34’s roll out in that order, pretty much, and have been awaiting the 33’s.
@flashk OOO. My son received his letter late November.
@flashk Take a look at the thread below for some other posts on merit scholarships. I think that is the one I was following when I saw other 33s. Take a look at p.47 for information on 33 being the merit cut-off. There are posts around about a dozen pages earlier that also reference having called Pitt and being told the cut-off to be considered for merit aid is 33. I am not 100% certain, so please check with the school, but I think the app had to be received by 12/15 to be considered for merit. Decisions come out on a rolling basis until February or March so it’s still a possibility. Best of luck to your DD’s BFF.
I’m getting very nervous! I heard back in October that I was admitted into the politics and philosophy major in Dietrich, and I received a grad school offer in November. I have yet to hear anything about merit aid. I’m ranked 34/338 in a very competitive public hs in Massachusetts. My SAT is 1480. 8 Aps, Honors Academy, president of biggest club in school (Leo club / community service club, 300+ members, mentioned in an essay.) Also have family members that went to Pitt, and my grandfather is a regular donator and active alumni member. I’m nervous because my SAT is ten points below the posted requirement, and my class rank is low. What do you guys think? Pitt is my first choice but without at least 10k in merit aid I can’t go. Thanks and congrats to everyone who heard already!
@AbbyMcDonough1 It doesn’t sound like you are going to get merit aid. Your rank isn’t high enough. I wouldn’t give up yet, but start seriously considering other colleges.
My daughter applied to Pitt on 12/12. She received Merit letter offering $15,000/yr on 12/22. She also received Chancellors invite. Had 34 ACT. 1460 SAT. Heavy load of AP courses.4.0 GPA. School does not rank. OOS. Accepted to Swanson Engineering and Honors School. Will wait to see what other offers come from other 4 schools before deciding. Wasn’t really ecstatic or disappointed with the $15,000 offer. Good luck to everyone!
My son just received his scholarship (we were away for the holidays): in state, $10K/year and nominated to the Chancellors scholarship. His GPA is 3.9/4.9 (weighted) with a 1520 SAT. But the letter does not make any reference to Honors College. Does that come separately?
I had a question regarding the chancellor’s scholarship. I was working on inputting the essays on the website earlier but now I cannot edit, all I see is a blank screen when I click on view you application. I only have a few more days to finish it and now I have no access. Anyone know what is wrong or what I can do?
@AbbyMcDonough1 Any chance grandpa can give you the funds he normally donates to the school? Would that help? If you are 10 points below the posted requirement, I don’t think you will get the merit award.
@Coolguywithahat, The website for the Chancellor’s scholarship invistation should include contact information for the Honors College on the Help page, please reach out to them.
You can also try a different browser or clearing the cookies to see if that works.

Thanks. I contacted the email on the help page and I am waiting to here back. I tried using different browsers and devices but still nothing is working. I will see what they tell me to do. I am just worried because I do not have too many days left to submit the application.
@hailtopitt1787 I was able to solve the issue, thanks.
