Class ring?

I have one...some people were like "Why spend $300 on it?"

Honestly I questioned myself too, but now it's the only piece of jewelry I wear most of the time. I love it. It's not just a piece of metal, it's a reminder of everything that's happened to me so far for the last 3 years. It's a reminder of the future too...I don't know, it's like it holds memories.

I'm hoping the company that made it will also be making my college rings, so in the future if I don't want it as much anymore I can just trade it in.

The rings are a nice memory from high school. You may want to check if the company doing your school rings can make a signet ring rather than the traditional high school ring, you would probably wear than one longer. My oldest son is a freshman in college and still wears his which is the signet style of ring. Enjoy the rest of high school!

Not many people at our school buy them, but my friend's mom made him buy one. It looks kind of stupid, and they accidently sent him a horse instead of a swimmer, so he's been telling people that he's president of the jousting club. My mom says that I'm not allowed to get one, because she thinks they're a waste of money.

I got one and wore it for like 2 months.

I just got mine last week and I am absolutely in love with it. We have a very unique ring, and it looks wonderful.

It makes me feel like my small, loving school is with me when I need it too. This way, I know that I already have the support I need, even when I go to a crazy-big college.

That and it just looks nice/intelligent.

Can someone tell me why they would get one aside from...everyone else does?

Ours is very symbollic and we don't have a stone, so it doesn't look like a typical class ring.
We have this whole graduation tradition where we turn it around, but the whole explanation would a while to explain.

Mind you, I only got mine because of the school I'm at and the symbolism of it- anywhere else I would have considered it a waste of money.

I don't need a ring to remember my high school experiences.

And I'd rather not waste hundreds of dollars on something I'd never wear after high school.

That's exactly my thoughts ^^^^

I mean, you where it for like the summer after senior year and then you're in college....so you're gonna want that college ring instead of the high school ring and it's like OMFG!

And remember highschool? With a ring? How about with phonecvalls to friends? How about hanging out with high school friends? how about a yearbook? how about not spending 300 dollars for nothing?

I don't and will not ever purchase a class ring lmao. I'll have other mementos like yearbooks? Yeah :D :D. Besides, only a few at my school buy those rings anyway. Hela expensive.

Sheed30, you have heard from BOTH sides of the people who have bought class rings. Yet you, without a ring, continue to diss the idea. The childishness is insulting. You can't not understand or value our reasoning but there is no need to be sarcastic or insulting.

Class ring? I rather not.....

I'm insulting you by writing my opinion? sorry.

I do not plan to buy a $300 (this being the CHEAPEST at my school) ring for high school. Nobody really cares where you went to high school, unless you go to like the best high school in the nation.
I would rather buy jewelry from a store.

I think it's enough with a yearbook, a shirt and other goodies.
