I was wondering if people in college still wear their HS class rings?

From my experiance, most people don't even buy those, unless they are the first kids in their families to graduate highschool... and most people in college won't even buy a college ring unless they are of the same situation...

Unless, of course, you are in a special situation, such as going to a military academy... than its a really big thing.

^Actually, I was kinda the odd one out not buying one at my school. But I maintain it's because the kids here just have a lot of money and not much to do with it. Then again I gave a kid five dollars for two slices of pizza today. Even though that was a bit of a rip off, I drool imagining how much I could have gotten for the price of one of those crappy rings people lose in two weeks anyways...

I just graduated from HS and had bought my ring in april and I lost in my senior trip to punta cana 2 weeks ago.. :(

I really liked that ring. Perhaps I wasn't meant to have a HS ring

rings are dumb to begin with.

I plan on wearing mine.... well for awhile i guess,
i actually lost it before at pratice but one of my friends found after 3weeks, i was so happy :D

I see people wearing them all the time, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.

as far as I know, most people in my school didn't buy any rings, just seems like a waste of money to me. Now a college ring would probably be something I would get since I'm the first person in my immediate family to attend college.

Most people in my high school class bought rings.
I've seen plenty of people on my college campus wearing high school rings. I don't wear mine at school, because it was expensive, and I'd prefer to not have that at school.

I didnt buy one. i was not going to waste 400 dollars on a piece of metal that i will either

A) lose
B) lose
C) unconsciouly forget to wear it
D) not wear it on purpose because their not that cool

This is a little bit off topic but which finger do guys wear rings on? Is there a "gay" finger?

well I didn't ask who bought class rings or who thinks its a waste of money
thanks to those who responded to my actual question

sorry...didnt mean to go off topic. iwas simply being sarcastic. if you wanna wear than do so. i know many ppl who don't but that shouldnt stop u from doing so if u want to. Go ahead.

My D also lost her HS ring this past Feb in NYC while auditioning at NYU for college. She put all of her jewelry in a pile and forgot about them! Well, while going through some olde paperwork, I found that the ring was insured for being lost or stolen! She had an artcarved and the ins. is called PAL. Hopefully you have something like that too, as her local jeweler that sold the rings to the HS said a new one (exactly the same) would arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. She's thrilled as it has sentimental value, and I'm thrilled as I couldn't afford another :)

About half of the school gets a ring and we get ours before second semester Junior year, so we have a year and a half to enjoy them. I'm graduating early so I'm going to wear mine until my class graduates, till the end of my freshmen year. I got one of the cheaper ones and it was $180. I really like it and I, even though I'm notorious for losing things, haven't lost it yet.

Username... while some rings are gay, most that guys wear aren't... mainly wedding bands, but also in the case of these types of rings, I would just like to suggest to you that you should go up to anybody who has graduated from West Point, Navy, Air Force, Kings Point, Coast Guard, the Citadel, VMI or Norwich and call them gay, just to see what happens.

Oh... and Superbowl rings... those aren't gay either.

LOL username 06. iduno if theres a gay finger..

anyways, a lot of people at my private catholic highschool got rings. i am thinking of getting one because i am really serious about school now and used to take school for granted. you can order one anytime, its just an engraved ring from a private company.

i went to a private prep school. there is tradition of getting ur rings ur junior year. i didn't get one initially but got one this year, my senior year. i love my ring. its a reminder of wonderful times and love for my school. i am def going to wear it in college and get a college ring as well. its a lot more than piece of metal to to me and a lot of other people. its something i cherish.

For all of you who have lost your rings, my son found out that the company his school used replaces the rings one time for a small fee. Not a bad deal. He didn't need receipt--they had on record. I believe his company was Jostens.

a trick is get a ring that is subtle- not shiny

get it in a brushed metal- and not gold, and try and get the stone that is not really bright-

my Ds ring is really simple and subtle, unless you look closely, you can't tell its a school ring, and she can see herself wearing it because it doesn't scream HIGHSCHOOL!!!
