Classes already taken prior to Winter 07

I've heard from a lot of people that UC's hate students who wait till the very last 2 semesters of their application period to fulfill the major requirements. I'm applying to UC Berkeley for Mass Comm and UCLA for Poli Sci. So far the classes I've taken have nothing to do with my major other than two Econ classes for the 3rd category of Mass Comm @ UCB. I plan on taking my 1st Poli Sci class for UCLA during this upcoming Winter intersession. I'm done with IGETC this semester except for the foreign language requirement which will be done by this Spring. If you look at my overall transcript, you'd have no idea I was a Poli Sci major.

How bad of a position am I in?

anyone?
lol

The more classes you complete for your major before applying is better but they will see your fall grades. I believe it is ok to take one or two of your major prereq's during your last semester. There has been this discussion before and there was some disagreement on this issue so it is still up in the air.
