Clemson and Georgia Tech

What kind of GPA do you need to easily transfer to Georgia Tech from Clemson. Also is it harder to get into tech as an incoming freshmen when you are out of state vs if you were in state? Thanks in advance for help.

GT does not consider in-state vs. out-of-state when making an admission decision for freshman. It does factor into their decision for transfers.

As far as transfer GPA’s, you can see the averages here: http://www.hyperion.gatech.edu/reports/irp/Transfer-in_GPA_PDF.pdf</a>

The most important aspect in transferring is that you’ve completed the transfer requirements for your major, and the classes taken at Clemson will transfer to GT. Without that, they won’t even consider your application.

Thanks a lot BanjoHitter. You have been most helpful. So the chart says that in 2009 there were 42 transfers in Computer Engineering with an average GPA of 3.31? So this plus following their course schedule should be my goal right? Also would you happen to have a link to a map of which students apply from which state. I remember seeing one but if you don’t have it at the top of your head then don’t even bother about it. You seem to know a lot about Tech! Thanks you!
