My daughter was accepted to SC International
business program and also received the most merit from SC ! I was shocked that she was denied admission into SC’s HC.
Guys my decision still hasn’t come!! Im so F-ing ANNOYED
When did you apply?
Congratulations to your daughter! How was the interview? My son is interested in the program.
What source did you use for rankings? My son has been accepted to UTK and NC State as well (for business). He’s also been accepted to UofSC so wondering how they all compare. There seems to be a lot a difference depending on the ranking source you look at. Not sure which is most reliable…
If you applied by the priority deadline in December, contact admissions. If you applied after that, the best I can tell you is to be patient, and admissions will let you know your decision when it’s available.
She said the interview went well! She attends a classical high school so this kind of curriculum is very familiar to her. It was a zoom call with three professors asking her questions. Lasted about 45 minutes.
Hey! is it possible you can help me with a personal statement or even show me yours as an example.
I am appealing and need help
@2525Collegee there is actually a thread on the forum where you can post for help. Lots of people there who would be willing to help you with your essay:
Thanks so much!!
I used US News and World Report just because it’s the one to which I have the best access. Yes, there can be a lot of variance by source.
Personally, I did a search for college rankings for my D’s intended specific engineering major and looked at a variety of sources for that specifically. There were variances but some programs repeatedly showed up higher vs lower across multiple sources. Basically was looking for places that weren’t already on our radar but should be in terms of strength of program. I’m familiar with business world/schools, but engineering was another story .
For b-schools there can be a lot of variance between specific majors (i.e. supply chain, international business, accounting, finance, etc.). At least according to USNWR UTK is really strong in supply chain and NCSU is strong in analytics. UofSC (I think across sources) is known for International Business. I have noticed a pattern that universities with strong/large engineering schools often are strong in supply chain, ops mgmt, or quant type b-school majors.
We are similar boat. In hindsight we shouldn’t have submitted scores to any of his schools. Son had only one sitting after having 6 tests cancelled. We submitted on good faith but it appears it has worked against in more than one instance. Andecotely, his peers who did not submit scores did better with college acceptances even though they had lower GPA.
My daughter was offered one of the scholarships for Lyceum Scholars tonight - yay! It comes with a $2500 scholarship per year.
We are in Texas - there were no mention of “merit” scholarships in her Clemson acceptance letter, but perhaps there will be merit in her financial aid package in March? Or is that just wishful thinking? Does anybody know if getting selected for Lyceum carries any weight with merit aid?
We are out of state, so unless she can receive some significant aid, she will need to go elsewhere, which would be too bad, because the Lyceum Scholars seems to be a fantastic program.
Congratulations to her!
Congrats on Lyceum!
Our son’s acceptance letter came with the the news that he will be receiving a merit scholarship, the amount of which was supposed to be revealed in February (but will be delayed per an email last week). I’m guessing that merit money is usually mentioned in the acceptance letters, but I would definitely make a call or two to be sure!
did everyone who got admitted to Lyceum already find out? In the original email it said we would be notified by the end of march- still hoping
Congratulations! Being selected as a Lyceam Scholar comes with a $10K scholarship ($2.5K per year). It’s a wonderful program.
I have not received my acceptance packet from Clemson I have been anxiously awaiting LOL
Has anyone who applied after Jan 1st been accepted, rejected or waitlisted?
Same here dude! I have already been accepted but the wait for the packet is still nerve-wracking for no reason lol
