I’ve been on the freshman admissions waitlist for Umich for some time now, which is where I always wanted to head out to, but am taking precautions in case that door isn’t open this year to transfer next year. I see they prefer sophomore standing as a minimum, which is what I hope to have done by the end of freshman year, but would like to accelerate that process through CLEP credits. I will be taking honors Calc 1 and 2 in my freshman year but was wondering if the CLEP Calc exam would be a better choice. I want to show the admissions officers that I can succeed with a high GPA in a rigorous course but wasn’t sure if I should take the CLEP route where I will have only credits to transfer or the course route where I will earn a grade and credits.
P.S. I plan on taking other Clep exams as well, not just math.
Thanks in advance
