Climate in UCD

I'm not exactly sure when they put it in. I would guess when they built all the new dorms.

Davis actually has pretty nice weather for much of the school year. It tends to have more extreme temperatures than coastal areas (Bay Area, Southern California). Winter highs can vary quite a bit, from the upper 30s on a miserably cold day of Tule fog to 70 in the midst of a mid-winter warm spell; lows can be as cold as the low to mid 20s during the coldest parts of winter and as mild as the 40s. Summers are generally hot, with highs usually in the mid 80s or higher (often 90-95; goes above 100 for at least a handful of days each year) but comfortable overnight temperatures (50s to 60s). It is rainier here than in other parts of the Valley or Southern California, but much drier than coastal Northern CA or the mountains in any direction. Snow? Don't count on it. If you're lucky, you may see some flakes once during your whole undergraduate career (increase your odds by staying for postgrad studies!). Late fall and early spring tend to be very comfortable biking weather, and that encompasses a big part of the school year. Just watch out for the wind: on occasion, it'll be strong enough on a bright sunny day to make biking on north-south paths miserable.

Do people bike when its winter? Like in the 20s-30s? How do people get around then?

20's would be overnight. 30's even upper 30's would be rare.

Well I know that people generally bike, but how're you supposed to bike from class to class in 30 degree weather?

Its probably never that cold during the day. Mostly 40's-50's winter days.

Unitrans go and read the wiki, scroll down more.

It's never THAT cold. It's never cold enough to where jeans and a hoodie/jacket aren't enough to suffice. You'll be fine. We live in a relatively pretty good part of California.

I hope it rains. A lot more than those statistics show.
=D

During the day, it's usually 50-65 degrees (I swear, it's random). It definitely isn't too cold, but at night time it does get pretty chilly. I have to wear two layers of jackets to keep myself warm. It can range from the high 30's to the high 40's at nighttime.
I've learned not to complain after one of my teachers talked about growing up in sub-zero degree winters. =P

Was he a penguin? Or, better question. Did he talk about killing Batman?

who's up for beach trips when we get up there?! :D

its pretty extreme it goes from like 30-100+ and its arid
