Hey everyone! Being in the Caribbean, I have no clue how warm to dress for my revisits. Could you guys give me an idea of how many layers to wear and what kind of clothes you would wear for 52 degree weather? They say it will be a rainy day.

i want to know the same thing for andover.

First of all cookie, congratulations on deciding to attend Choate. Choate's an awesome school and i'm sure you'll do great.

As guy i'm going to wear khaki's, an undershirt, a polo, a winter jacket, and dress shoes.

For a girl you should wear a nice shirt with a light "carriable" hehee sweater, and a winter jacket to hand to all the guys that will flaunt you at the campus. heehee

Aww, thanks Mcskittlz. Thanks for the tips too!

You live in the Caribbean??! That's so cool! Where about?

...I'm sorry...just couldn't resist. haha

xoxocookie - you must bring your winter jacket, it's still cold in NE !

rain will mean mud - durable shoes with tread!

Yes, some areas still have lots of snow, although I think it will be mostly gone at the schools you are visiting cookie. However, the ground will be soft and muddy if you are not on a walkway. And....it is still very cold here (NH, northern MA) with temps dipping into the teens at night.

iv never been to a revisit day, but up north to public school we wear wool coat/ski coat, jeans, but for this probably trousers or a skirt with tights and boots. sweater on top.

Choate did not send you a dresscode? I was sent a strict dresscode, lol. Im wearing a suit with the works, yet again. Hahahaha

Does anyone know the dress code for andover?

Andover doesn't have a "formal dress code" that being said, I wouldn't show up in anything you wouldn't feel comfortable wearing in front of say, your grandmother.

For the majority of the schools, just dress in what your parents would say is nice. For my son, that meant khakis, a button down with a sweater, and leather shoes. If it's cold, you can wear cords. Make sure the pants fit (the way your parents think pants should fit)....not big, baggy, and hanging. Luckily, my son gravitates naturally toward the conservative, "preppy" look, so he chooses appropriate clothing on his own.

I don't think you guys will be needing winter coats.

Bring them along, but I'm guessing you'll just leave them in the car.

DONT THINK YOULL BE NEEDING WINTER COATS?!!! hel-lo! its bellow freezing, with two feet of snow on the ground IN SPRING! they need winter coats, trust me.

hockeykid...where are you posting from? For NH schools and northern and western MA schools, they very well might still need their winter coats. The forecast is for some snow tonight and more Friday (not a big storm...don't want to scare anyone). If you have a coat with a zip in fleece, you might want to at least wear the shell....but bring the fleece.
And, yeah, there's still a couple of feet of snow on the ground in NH.

well im from MN so i will be wearing a button down shirt and my swimsuit :)

Choate said slacks, skirts, blouses and dresses are acceptable. How specific :P

Hmm, so would wide leg khaki pants and a polo with a sweater be acceptable? Then of course my winter jacket and good boots.

bring your coats! a wk or 2 ago, and you would have needed long underwear! (just kidding, but definitly hats and gloves)

i wish i were cookie or stateofhockey! i NEED more warm weather!!!! >:(
