From me, too, TaraMom and Collegebound 87!!

It just proves that there are schools/programs out there that will look past the stats to find great, talented kids who will both benefit from and enhance what the school has to offer.

We have a friend in his final year and he has accomplished amazing things!

Congrats Collegebound87 and TaraMom! I'm jealous off the people that know! Supposedly I'll find out from CCM on Monday or Tuesday.crosses fingers!

My congraulations to Collegebound87 and TaraMom!

Congrats on UCLA you guys!!! Everyday someone else gets good news. Jesseeinstein it's just a matter of time for you!!! I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts and wishes your way!

Way to go to collegebound 87 & Taramom! UCLA is so very hard to get into. You should be very proud!

Congrats to out UCLA acceptences!!

jesseeinstein, how did you hear that you'd be hearing from CCM Monday or Tuesday? I'm waiting to hear as well, Monday or Tuesday would be awesome. Some people who auditioned the same day I did heard last week, but the mail in my area is horribly slow.

I called to check my app. status. They told me that I've already been looked at, and the decision has been made. They said that they were sending the letter out by the end of the week and that I should recieve it on Monday or Tuesday.

Excellent, hopefully they've made their decisions for everyone and I'll be getting mine soon so I can stop this silly waiting.

I hate the waiting, but dread the response! Particullarly CMU. CCM is second though, so I'm dreading it as well.

Hey guys, I haven't been online for five days as I was in Idaho and I am not all the way home yet but have reached upstate NY for the night and wanted to check my forum buddies' news here. I want to send congratulations to Cato, Collegebound87 and TaraMom! I hope everyone is hanging in there these last few weeks. It sounds like many have at least one option thus far and things will work out one way or another for the kids. Remember you can only attend one program and that is all you need and even if that does not pan out this spring, options in this field abound.

I did not think my D would hear any news while I was away as we know the dates decisions come out and none were to have come out this past week that she is waiting on. However, on my trip out to Idaho this past Tuesday, when I was on a layover in the midwest, my D called and told me that a faculty member from Syracuse called to tell her she was admitted to the BFA in MT there and would be getting her letter of acceptance. I did not know they did it that way. She was very happy and we'll have to see how everything turns out. All these programs have much to offer. She feels very fortunate.

I hope to catch up with everyone soon when I get back home.

Jesse, hang in there. While everyone has favorites, keep an open mind about all your schools because each one has strong aspects and I believe someone can be happy at way more than one place.

Susan

Congrats Susan! That's terrific news about Syracuse!!! How did the ski meet go?

I'll add my congrats to everyone!

Susan, terrific news.

I have a friend (male) who received a call as well from Syracuse BFA MT Monday or Tuesday and his paperwork came Thursday. I also have a handful of friends not in MT that have received there admissions paperwork into the school thursday-saturday. You are the only other person i have heard that got a call from syracuse MT besides my friend. I am going to Syracuse (ED) BFA Acting( I may be re-auditioning for the MT program in the future there, I will see, originally that is what I thought I should do now I am not so sure, the acting program may be best for me because I can be alittle more flexible with my courses, it is funny how things work out) Anyways, they emailed me.

CONGRATULATIONS to the VT girl!! I actually didn't even find out from CC, I looked at the SDM message board!! (this news spreads like wildfire!) She should be feeling very very good. Yay!!

Does anyone know the latest that Syracuse will let you know?
-Jesse

Soozievt, many congrats to your D! Also -- and this goes out to all the rest of the parents, too -- many pats on YOUR back for everything you've done to help her reach her goals.

Congratulations SoozieVT. My mother lives just ouside of Syracuse and that's where I grew up, though I now live in Texas. I usually only visit in the summer (when there's no snow) but in the future I'll have to see if I can go when they're having a performance so I can check it out. SU was initially one of the schools we thought about, but my son was afraid that was too close to Grandma, and she might call him every night :).

Actually to add to my last post-does anyone know when Syracuse, Boston Conservatory, and Ithaca let you know? This stuff should be on the website but I can't find it anywhere!

DizzyDani,
what is the SDM messege board? Is it Syracuse?
