Any stats on GW RD?
@hoodwinkh 41.8% overall. They didn’t break out ED vs. RD stats specifically.
@citivas Thanks for the link.
I believe the stats listed for Boston College is for last year.
2019 Totals indicated will be 8400 +/- accepted from 35000 +. ((Website says over 35k) . Or 24%. Or most likely a bit less.
Using EA, total actual applications at the low end and last year’s admitted number which is possibly lower this year. It looks like
28% ED. Confirmed
20% RD.
24% overall accepted .
Below is from the BC website.
( RD round calculation. 8400 admitted total minus 4448 ed. Or 3952 accepted rd out of pool 35000-15862 ea. Or 19138 rd applications. 3752/19138 = 20%)
Obviously they had more than 35k this year based on official update below and 8400 is from last year and it might be a bit lower.
So total # apps and final # admitted tbd. But directionally it should be close. Info indicates it’s lower to offset some over enrollment last two years.
“A change in Boston College Early Admissions policy led to a significant increase in the number of applicants for the class of 2023. The Office of Undergraduate Admission received 15,862 Early Action applications, a surge of 50 percent from last year’s applicant pool of 10,350. The University admitted 4,488 students in December, an acceptance rate of about 28 percent. Including regular decision applicants, BC received over 35,000 applications for the incoming freshman class — a new record.
Represented among accepted students are all 50 states, three of five U.S. territories, and 49 countries. AHANA+ applicants make up 35 percent of accepted students, a jump of four percent from last year’s early admission yield.
Admitted students averaged a 34 on the ACT and a 1477 on the SAT”
Oh yeah it’s from 2020. Never mind. Long day :))
:-h
@privatebanker I think you are right, though, in that we will see a big change in BC’s admission statistics this year because of the changes they have made. I suspect their stats will now on paper be more inline with their true peers that sometimes appear more selective because of the differences in their application options. I watch a lot of schools’ stats year after year and none more closely than BC’s and I think they are about to look a lot more selective than people have thought of them in the past. (And for those of us that have been following their stats, this has never been an easy school to get in to but I think the numbers are going to demonstrate that more clearly this year.) BC is such a great school for so many reasons, so I am personally glad to potentially see this shift.
Wow. That is actually insane. Honestly, the rates seem to be quite consistent year to year.
what about columbia though? that’s where i was planning to apply early
Is there a College Admissions Statistics for Class of 2023?
