I don’t think TCU is overrated, I’m pretty sure they could have competed against Florida more than cincy, and they probably could have beat cincy if they had the chance. Yeah they don’t have the best recruiting, but its a private school with only 8,000 kids. They develop real nicely, patterson is a great coach. They can pass, run and play good d, it was wrong to put the non-bcs teams up against each other. How do we know if they can hang with the big boys if they’re not playing them?

Oh yeah, and that former lsu commit wasn’t happy with freshman Russel Shepard’s playing time so he committed to texas. I agree, LSU has great wide receivers. i doubt he’ll get much more early playing time at texas, but it’s all good, and the longhorns got d money to commit yesterday! hes a great wideout and a return man.

I agree 100%. Part of my point was that they are not recruiting players that fit into their scheme. They just recruited another dual-threat QB, Russell Shepard, who will not fit into their system.

People have been questioning Miles for years.

Arguably, the B10 (out of the BCS confs.) has had the best bowl season thus far.

Minny fumbled in the endzone at the end of the game and NU would have beaten Auburn if their kicker didn’t have the worst game of his life.

Even MSU, which was minus 14 players (due to an on campus fight), led TT into the 4th Q.

You can’t just go by recruiting rankings (which, btw, are biased in favor of the power schools).

Otherwise, why not just give the V to 'Bama, despite being blown out by Utah last season, or to Oklahoma, despite losing to Boise State a few years ago?

TCU is a very good team and probably the best in the state of TX.

Unlike, UF, UT and UA - TCU really doesn’t have a big flaw.

TCU would likely beat UF and UT w/ the UA game being real close.

Are you really making that statement after the beatdown UF put on Cincinnati? Little programs have a hard time filling big time shoes, no matter what their records against “air” say. ;)

I was at the TCU/UT game in Austin two years ago (last time they played), at the time TCU was ranked pretty high and were considered contenders, they got their lungs handed to them. They just don’t have the talent or depth to last four quarters against the horses that a big time program (with big time recruiting) can bring.

I will admit that every once in a while a Cinderella will emerge (Utah last year, Boise State 2006) and win a big one, but year after year, when schools like UF, UT, OU, etc are turning away blue chip, 5 star recruits by the dozens because their rosters are full with better athletes, and when their coaches are being paid ASTRONOMICAL salaries, along with support staff, and they have access to ridiculous facilities, schools like TCU will never be able to compete year after year unless they cheat - and I’m an old SMU grad from the Pony Express days (“best team money could buy”), so I know from whence I speak. :)

^ I’m not arguing that overall, year-after-year, that the powerschools will usually win.

Just stating that THIS YEAR’S TCU team is pretty darn good w/ really no major weaknesses while UF and UT both have major flaws (and that TCU team which lost to UT in 2007 was hardly a world beater w/ a 7-5 regular season record).

This year’s TCU team, just like every year’s TCU team played NOONE of consequence! The only quasi-big time team they played, Clemson, is a mid level team in a so so conference, and that was a close game! The other teams they played, they might as well be playing against air. No wonder they could run up the score and hold the other teams to few points- they could do it against a junior college too.

Week after week, SEC and Big 12 schools are going up against teams that have a true chance of winning, not in some story book, Cinderella way, but a real chance. They get battle tested throughout the season, and to come out of that gauntlet undefeated says ALOT! Coming out of the Mountain West Conference undefeated doesn’t.

Who really knows if TCU can beat UT or UF or bama, no one can say. The only way to know is if they play each other. Playoffs would be so exciting in college football, but highly unlikely that it’ll go through.

You could almost say that Texas played no one this year either. The best team they played (Nebraska) almost beat them except for that last second (literally) FG. The difference between Texas and TCU is that the bottom falls out of TCU’s schedule, where the bottom of TCU’s schedule is worse than the bottom of Texas’s schedule.

It is worth questioning their schedule, though, when you compare TCU’s (82nd toughest schedule according to Sagarin) and Boise State’s (98th) with Texas (49th), 'Bama (12th), Georgia Tech (22nd), or USC (6th).

Wow what a lousy call against TCU. That was definitely offensive PI by the Boise player but they called defensive PI on the TCU defender. Totally bogus.

haha yeah I saw a little bit of bsu’s band pregame, even the cheerleaders weren’t that good looking. Compared to TCU’s of course. Anyways, nerves got to TCU, bsu was the better team. Better luck next year

Anyone see that BSU cowbell girl? Hahaha. TCU was overrated, but the matchup was pretty even. BSU didn’t really have much going for them offensively besides the fake punt and int. TD. Buy the TCU dance team and cheerleaders were sooo eye pleasing!

See people who think TCU or Cincinnati should’ve been in the national championship game don’t know what they’re talking about. Big schools dominate college football.

TCU was overrated. They scored 44 points per game and only score 10 vs Boise LOL. Sure they had excellent stats the whole year but they didn’t play anyone, that’s why they had such good stats! If a Florida played the same schedule they would’ve won by a lot more. TCU does have a good defense, but it’s not elite. They’re known for having a great D-line that puts a lot of pressure on QBs and they didn’t really do that vs Boise, a pretty good team.

Oh yeah, its unbelievable how attractive the girls are at TCU. I live in fort worth, 10 min away from the campus, so i love eating somewhere by campus just to check out the girls. Just driving around the campus truly feels like heaven. If I didn’t want to dorm I would attend TCU in a heartbeat. Amazing.
