Yeah it would have. They had like 1:10 on the clock so 3 kneels would have done it.

no, it was 1:41 and Texas had a TO.

Yeah the drive started with 1:48 but after getting two 1st downs the clock was at 1:10ish. So it would have been respectful to kneel then but whatever.

My preseason top 5:
- Alabama
- Boise State
- Florida
- TCU
- Ohio State

It’s a bit of a crapshoot at this point, but we’ll see what happens.

^
Or they could have handed the ball off to Ingram around the :25 mark after the interception. Seriously, your arguments about a “classy ending” to the game are a bit pointless; as I remember, Mack Brown is quite a fan of running up the score to further his BCS rankings.

You’re right, except that there was only one first down and Texas still had the ability to stop the clock and get the ball back.

Oregon should be up there, probably in place of Florida.

“Mack Brown is quite a fan of running up the score to further his BCS rankings.”

Actually he’s known for not running the score up. He’s known as one of the “classy” big school coaches that doesn’t do that despite what the score says. He’s actually been criticized for not running the score up to juice up stats.

I can’t wait for a Matt Barkley-Garrett Gilbert head to head.

My preseason top 10:
- Alabama
- Texas
- Boise State
- Ohio State
- USC
- Virginia Tech
- Oregon
- Georgia Tech
- Miami (FL)
- LSU

Others to watch: Pitt, TCU, Penn State, Arizona, Oregon State, Iowa, Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Wisconsin

^ I agree with you but I’d put OSU over Boise & Miami over Georgia Tech & Florida as #6.

Yeah I’ve been saying it for a while, I think Gilbert will be a future star and has a good chance to be better than Barkley. I just wish he would have led his team to victory vs Alabama :(

two 14-0 teams at the end of the season, way to go BCS

My preseason top 10:
- Alabama
- Texas
- Florida
- Boise State
- Ohio State
- TCU
- Oregon
- Georgia Tech
- Penn State
- LSU

Florida is losing an awful lot of talent, and not just Tebow and Urban Meyer. If they get lucky, they won’t have any more juniors declare for the NFL.

They’ll be good next year, but they might have to rebuild. That’s why I didn’t put them in my preseason top 10.

We are national champions!!!

BCS* National Champions

;)

^^Good game. I feel so bad for Colt McCoy :(

Florida isn’t losing Urban Meyer, he’s said that he will return as coach next August. I heard it in an interview by him and by a high school recruit. And they will have a top 3 recruiting class + Andre Debose + a QB that I’ve heard good things about. So Florida will still be an elite team.

They’re the national champions. Played by the rules of the system in place.

Kind of ironic that a UCLA/Pac-10 guy would say this because the BCS is mostly supported by the Pac-10 and Big Ten conferences…as one athletic director said, a college football playoff is being “held hostage by the Rose Parade”.

. -_- .

Pete Carroll suddenly leaves USC to become the Seahawks head coach, wonder if something’s going down at USC, especially with the basketball probation.

the Pete Carroll thing came out of no where, I definitely think it has something to do with the investigations that are going down. In my opinion, USC would be a dream job, why would he leave it unless he felt threatened. Maybe it’s because he feels he could succeed in the NFL and wants to show it. Who knows, I do know that the contract is rumored to be 5 years/35m, which is huge. Compared to what he gets now, which is like 4.5 or something. Seahawks want a celebrity, and they got one. Everyones gonna want to watch his first game.

I’m so happy about this move. It just guarantees two wins a season for the 49ers.

^^^

Looks like his OC is following as well- I’m really anxious for any news out of the USC camp.
