One of my professors moved to Oregon (I go to school in Georgia) last month, and I have no idea how I'm going to get them a printed copy of the IE form and get it back without having to fuss with mail.

I know I handled teacher recommendations entirely through email last year--I just typed my teachers' emails into the Common App and it send them the forms. Is there any way my professors can complete the forms online, or should I just get my stamps and envelopes ready?

P.S. Would it be possible to fax the form to my professor (I know it’s physically possible, but is it allowed)?

The option to complete school forms electronically is available for freshman applicants only (see [here](http://s3.parature.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=486)).

So, if you want, you can mail him the Teacher Evaluation form. But, personally, I wouldn’t go through the hassle of doing that; just e-mail the form to him. When you open the PDF containing the TE form, scroll your cursor down to the bottom and you’ll see an icon that looks like a floppy disc. Click on that to save the file to your computer. Then, just e-mail your professor, attach the the form to the e-mail, and give the address of the school(s) that you’re applying to. The professor can print out the evaluation and complete it. When he’s done, he can mail the LOR directly to the school(s).

It doesn’t matter how you get them the form, but you do have to fill out and sign the top part. So, after filling out your part, you could:

Scan the form (if you don’t have a scanner, any office supply store will scan and put it on a thumb drive that you provide for very little money) and email it to them.

or

FAX the form to them.

Depending on how many schools you have, they may be willing to just sent them if you provide the addresses.

Ok. Does it matter whether or not they fill out the form by hand? If I scan it and send it to them, that’s kind of their only option (unless they want to use an image-editing program like MS paint or something).

No. Filling it out by hand is fine.

Edit: Sorry. Ignore my previous post. I forgot you had to fill out the top part until entomom said something. Still, you can print it out, fill out the info you’re supposed to, scan it, and then send it to your professor.

I’m just going to do it all through email. I’ll fill in my information (I think Common App does it automatically), send him the form via email, print out the completed form once he’s done with it and hope for the best. Does this make sense?

Won’t work. You need to fill out the Privacy Notice info - Common App won’t do that for you. You’ll have to print a form out for yourself, sign the notice, scan it, then e-mail it to your professor.
