what about rensselaer, i don't even know how to pronounce it.

that last post by world changer was pretty funny though

also it's pretty bad to go to a college with the same name as a famous one but it's not famous

georgetown college
cornell college
northwestern college (in minnesota)
columbia college (in chicago)
notre dame college

imagine having to say all the time "i go to notre dame.... no, not the good one"

Worst: Skidmore

I think it's pronounced "ren-ess-slayer".

whenever I hear the name SusquehanaU, I always think of WhatsamattU (Bullwinkle's alma mater)

"of course, Duke, Vanderbilt and Stanford are all kinda retarded, who names a university after themself?"

Vanderbilt didn't name it after himself. The university decided to name itself after him after he gave them 1 million dollars to help. And it had already been started before he gave them that money. And he never visited the south.

and another interesting fact, adjusted for inflation he was the 2nd wealthiest American.

World Changer, it's pronounced:

Ren - cell - ear

worst: Slippery Rock (in PA)
University of Pennsylvania .. It's too long - I think it would be cool if they changed it to Penn University

Best: Deep Springs, SUNY Stony Brook - I dont know why, but I like them

The college of Walla Walla in Washington has a pretty funny name XD

Rice sounds good to Asian people because we eat rice! (haha, just kidding...it sounds rather weird actually)

I think Auburn University sounds cool :)

Worst: Dickinson.

End of story.

haha coolman there seems to be an aquatic theme throughout your picks.

I think maybe the worst is Assumption College...

best: pepperdine, elon, rollins, wooster.

worst: colorado school of the mines, abraham baldwin agricultural college, aviation institute of maintenance.

okay - this isn't exactly a college name, but Albion College's football stadium is named "Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium".

goucher
ursinius

IUPUI - Eww! Pooey!

IUPUC - Eww! Puke!

Indiana University - obviously located on the east coast

BJU - tempted to apply there until I found out it was a religious school

Morehead University - Was tempted to apply there too

College of Wooster - COW? Rooster? Farming college? Wasn't there a villain named The Wooster in an episode of Winnie the Pooh?

Purdue - Funny to my Russian immigrant family because the word means "I am farting" in Russian, but ruder than its English translation. On the rudeness scale it's less than swear words but maybe a bit more than "crap." What's ironic is that both my brother and my cousin have went there and I'm seriously considering it for next year.

Purdue also has a building called Duhme Hall.

Berkley - Do people walk around wearing burkas?

Indiana Wesleyan is funny to me because I have a mental image of a really skinny computer genious when I think of "Wesley." Also, the building that the university occupies in my town is about the size of a storage closet in most high schools.

I think Case Western Reserve has a nice ring to it. Bryn Mawr sounds pleasant in a very consonant-y way.

Worst: Deep Springs (though it's an amazing college)
Best: Princeton

Bad enough: Berea (means 'beer' in Romanian, so it was really funny when my classmates read "Welcome to Berea" - especially the boys ;) )

Its weird how MIT is never referred as MassTech and CalTech is rarely mentoned as CIT. I like MIT and CalTech.
Northwestern is in Chicago...I bet most people think it's somewhere near Seattle or somewhere in Washington state.
