Columbia Class of 2020 ED Applicant Thread

@michigangirl2016 I’m procrastinating on chemistry homework right now, so yeah, sure, PM me! I’ve never read Hamlet, and I do have a certain loathing reserved for Shakespeare, but I wouldn’t mind sending a few critiques your way

@ThePedestrian Same, I’m just glad my finals will be done when decisions go live. It’s been hard enough just knowing the date and time!!

Also I have a question for the girls in this thread!
If you are rejected, will you apply RD to Barnard?

@soph1112 honestly, no. I just don’t like the feel of it - couldn’t tell you why.

@soph1112 I don’t think so. I’m not applying to any female only colleges at all.

@dr0wning I was just thinking of test scores. I think GPA matters somewhat, but everyone takes different classes of different difficulties so I’m not sure GPA is a super reliable statistic

@soph1112 I am applying to Barnard! I don’t exactly like the idea of a woman’s college, rather the prospect of taking classes at and receiving a diploma from Columbia… Which I realize is the wrong reason to apply.

SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS THREAD GROWING!

@columbhiroller When I researched Barnard, I read that they are aware of reasons like yours so they are really aware and picky about fit.
@PilotKhyle you’re the OP, must be nice watching your little thread baby grow :’)

@columbhiroller I don’t really like the all-female school but I know a few girls who go to Barnard and all of their classes are taken with Columbia students! Basically all that is only-female are the dorms and the application pool!

@dr0wning after like 300 days I was so surprised because the 2019 had SOOOOO much activity! Now, at 351 days, this one is finally starting to grow! It’s good to finally have some people to relate with on CC.

@soph1112 If (when? :)) we both get accepted, we will meet up and can be friends! I’m from pretty far away as well.

apparently two parentheses make a laughing face lol

lol this is kinda like a support group, none friends are really in the same boat (applying ED) and there are even less applying ED to columbia. as in 0. we should exchange contact information when (not if! when! because I’m feeling positive rn) we get in

HAHAHA @pilotkhyle I would love that!! Where are you from (if you don’t mind me asking)?

@wherevioletsgrow @aniiii @BrynMawr61 Except midterms for me is the week after Thursday so if I get rejected so i can’t even skip school to be sad

@dr0wning @PilotKhyle yes, we should all exchange contact info if (because i am a pessimist) we get in and we can all be friends who dealt with the crazy ordeal of applying and receiving decisions together! It really is like a support group!

@soph1112 I’m from the great state of Oklahoma lol.

I’m hoping that I will get it but I’m also hoping that all of you will as well!!

lol I go to an all-boys school and pretty much everyone I know is applying early somewhere, and 4 (including me) out of 80ish kids are applying ED to Columbia, so I’m pretty nervous.
