@francog53 Interview report deadline hasn’t even passed. Thus it’s clear that some incomplete items exist for some files. The fact that you know your scores are in your file now should put you at ease. Remember, they WANT to evaluate your complete file and will WORK to get it complete – up to and including emailing you for assistance if it’s required. If you hear nothing, then trust that nothing is going wrong. I get that this is nerve-wracking and the slow updates on applicants’ portals cause more anxiety than anything else – but let it go unless you hear something directly from CU.
Has anyone else had their interview yet? I’m extremely nervous about admission decisions and am hoping that the interview will have a positive impact on my application.
@arp987 My interview was extremely positive–very straightforward questions, just trying to get to know you as an applicant. Interviewer was really supportive and enthusiastic about Columbia. They just want to get a sense of you–it doesn’t feel like an evaluation at all.
Honestly, I don’t know how much interviews sway things in one direction or the other, usually only if it’s close. Still, an interviewer’s glowing report could influence an admissions officers’ overall perception of you even if they couldn’t directly pinpoint the interview as being the cinch.
@arp987 I think as long as you sound passionate and driven about whatever you wish to pursue, your Interview will go well. My only advice would be to have some questions in mind to ask them about Columbia, because my interviewer wanted me to ask him questions.
Did everybody send in their mid-year reports with just first quarter grades? I told my guidance counselor to, but it seems as if it wasn’t submitted over the Common App. Is this something I should worry and pressure him about or just let go?
"Please have your school submit the Mid-Year Report as soon as first quarter or first trimester grades are available if you are an Early Decision candidate; for Regular Decision candidates, as soon as first semester or second trimester grades are available. We will accept the documents either electronically or in paper form via postal mail or fax.
We request that Mid-Year Report/senior grades are submitted by February 1, or as soon as they are available. If you have completed high/secondary school at the time of application, it is not necessary to send in new documents.
We do not track Mid-Year Reports/senior grades through the online tracking system."
@mdelyakova My interviewer told me his reports were due around November 22nd. This might be the case for my region specifically, though. Generally, the interview really doesn’t matter at all, unless you screw up big time. After all, the undergrad office of admissions doesn’t even coordinate the interviews. Your contact info just gets sent to nearby alumni when you apply.
Hi all! I’m from Virginia and I’m wondering what kind of chance I have in acceptance. Extracurriculars, leadership, are good. President of some school clubs, Varsity athletics, certified Domestic Violence advocate, a lot of volunteer work. My ACT is a 33 composite, but I don’t know if I’m showing that I’m special in any way. I’m not first generation, my family is very typical… Please let me know if you have any insight or are in the same position!
Hello, I was wondering if anybody knew of any ways to track mid-year reports? My guidance counselor already sent mine but it isn’t showing up on my application tracking at all (as either received or not received). I just want to know if the admissions office got it, especially because they’ve already mislabeled a few of my documents causing them to temporarily mis-assign them.
I would recommend emailing the admissions office if it has been over two weeks since your GC sent it. Columbia’s Admission office is pretty good with responding by email and pretty understanding about issues like these.
@uithes923 i wrote to them about my SAT Subject Test results and they never responded to me either. Has anybody else had a similar experience? Why is this though?
