Columbia ED Class of 2019

@columbiaxctf‌
You’re in. A likely letter means that they’ve accepted you already. It’s just that the Ivy League can’t send out official admission decisions until Dec. 11th, that’s all.

@columbiaxctf‌ @ilovethecity‌
UNLESS the athlete screws up for whatever reason (drugs, cheating, crime, etc.)
Otherwise, yes, it’s very “likely” you’re in

@ilovethecity‌ did you also get a likely letter?

@misslanette‌
I did not. I am an ED applicant as well, and I’m anxiously awaiting Thursday.
It would be nice to get a likely letter, but in the ED round, they’re mostly for athletes.

Wondering how to pass the time for these last two days… so nerve-racking ahhh

are any of you guys planning on checking at school? (mostly referring to west coasters since decisions come out at 2pm for us) :/

i don’t think i’ll physically be able to check in front of people askdjfkaskl pls send help

@clicheusername‌ I know what you mean!! I think I’m going to go home and check so that I can cry privately…

@fahimi1351‌ Don’t apologize for your question; your concerns are completely valid! If the admissions office has told you that you’ve been moved to Regular Decision as opposed to Early Decision, then you are under no obligation to attend Columbia if admitted during the regular round–essentially, your early decision agreement is dissolved. HOWEVER, in order to ensure that you’re not held to a dissolved ED agreement due to some bureaucratic mistake, call the admissions office one more time, confirm that you are in fact now in the regular pool as opposed to the early one, and ask for that confirmation to be emailed to you so that you have it in writing and can submit it as proof later on in case the admissions office claims you were never transferred to the regular pool.
Hope that helps!

@doodlecat @clicheusername‌
I live on the east coast, so I can cry in the comfort of my own home.

Hey guys, I have an interview tomorrow… What does it mean?

@clicheusername‌ I’m in Cali! So 2 o clock yay but thankfully I get out of school right before 2 so aahhhhh ill just go home and check it while I’m all alone

@authriya, so it’s not like you wouldn’t be up till 3:30am anyway, ha ha :)

I’m in HL Econ, History and English Lang and Lit A, and SL Czech Lang and Lit, German, Bio and Math.

The Czech gov’t requires that all high school students take a course in a third language and a Czech language course, and because our school doesn’t offer HL Czech, and HL German seemed like too much, I have to be in 7 classes in order to adhere to the hexagon, or whatever fun shape it is these days… on top of that, the Czech gov’t also makes you take gym, so, as you can imagine, my schedule is pretty fun as well, ha ha.

@minminminmin

Do you have a Columbia interview tomorrow? How will that affect ED decisions anyway?

ARC typically has a deadline for receiving interview reports (usually before December 1st according to their alumni training PowerPoints you can find online). It most likely won’t affect ED decisions which are probably already decided…I may be wrong though.

@akashnila yes… my interviewer even suggested to meet after Dec 11

@minminminmin maybe your interviewer wants to brief you on Columbia…maybe you’re already ‘accepted’ :slight_smile: best of luck

@livingdoll I’m from the greater boston area too, where are you from? I got offered an interview the day after I submitted my application, so I don’t know what to say for you, but I doubt it’s a sign you didn’t get in.

I get my decisions during school and right now I’m debating between checking the decisions during class because I can hardly wait any longer or wait an hour so I can cry in my own house…

@bigdreamerdoer thanks!! good luck to you!

i’m feeling a rejection guys.
but i want to be surprised come Thursday
i’m going to make a YouTube video of my reaction, and if it’s positive, I’ll put it up
