Hey everyone, waitlisted too!
I am going to send my big LOCI this week, but I have a few important competitions coming up (state science fair + ISEF) that can potentially bring some big awards worthy of updating…
Would it be okay to send another update or two in the next month?

@grundeis they said they processed it after I sent it, I forget how many days later. I don’t think you should worry too much, but call them if it is more comforting.
Columbia tends to take more wait list than many schools because they provide on campus housing to essentially all undergrads for all 4 years so they seem to underestimate yield a bit. Last year from the admitted student FB group they seemed to take maybe 3 groups of about 30 people each a few weeks apart but I’m sure every year is totally different.
In three weeks, we should be getting receiving…good luck everyone

When does the first wave of waitlist offers come out? (When does Columbia CALL admitted waitlist students first before admitting them?)
@grundeis they said they would let us know no earlier than May 15th, so I’m assuming that week will be when they first start calling
How many got off the wait list last year and how many for engineering?
Do they call us to tell us we have an offer or do they simply send an email?

hey guys, it’s so quiet here…just a quick question: if we see the portal to find out that you get in in mid-may, can we expect to see a fancy video as well? I mean yeah this is a silly question but it’s been my dream to see that video if accepted. thx!
