@katewithak hey! i know, it’s crazy that it’s almost time until everyone has their apps in –– i know that mine is already in but im still nervous for the deadline for some reason haha
im super jealous you got to go to campus again, though!! i think my 2nd choice is uchicago, but thats as unlikely as columbia lol
@BuildBot Hi! A few days late, but I thought I would still answer. I answered it by putting “Words:” and then listing a few words then putting “Phrases:” and listing a few phrases, and then I included two quotes I particularly feel define me as well (one by Cornel West and the other by Mark Twain). For the other list questions, I included some quirky notes after a few of my answers. Hope that helps. Here’s to hoping we get in!
@takacatboy yeah, I don’t think there’s a strict format that they’re looking for, but it’s good you were clear about it.
@BuildBot i bulleted 4 or 5 words and explained them so that’s another method if you’re interested. or, you can just list a ton of words.i don’t think there’s an ideal method, just pick the one that gets your point across the best
I just submitted today with a Neuroscience and Behavior major!! It was a very emotional and exciting process. Wishing the best of luck to everyone applying!
i wish we all just knew our chances immediately haha, the thought of going in blind without knowing if im competitive or not is very scary to me! hopefully we all get in
@1984ad thank you! right it’s pretty scary, especially after you’ve already fallen in love with the school, but i just keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason, and i’ll end up where i’m supposed to be
Question on the last prompt (about why you have the fields of interest you do) - if I have indicated three majors in the drop down questions, should my essay discuss all three of these? I feel it’s hard to go in depth with only 300 words
@gghand3 I could also see a good reason to talk about 2 or even 3 if you truly felt you wanted to talk about them. Who knows, it could exhibit more fit with the “interdisciplinary” type of education they love to talk about
