Community College -> Ivy League

I grew up in California and was the best at most subjects during grade school, always made Honor Roll.

However, around ninth grade I turned sour and failed all my classes, got expelled from traditional high school and finally went on home school, which is where I graduated from. I've always been smart and had much potential but had the wrong influence.

Now, I'm 24 years old, a military veteran, currently an undergraduate with a 4.0 GPA, but I don't participate in clubs, organizations, or extracurricular activities. Also, I can't stand some general education classes so I imagine my GPA will drop when I only get a B-grade for a couple courses. I'm married and have a two year old to care for, my time is taken up by my family and being a full time student. I pretty much keep to myself.

I aspire to attend a well known school, preferably an Ivy League school, such as Dartmouth, or even a university such as Stanford or Berkeley.

All I know about these type of schools is what I read and what I see in movies, mainly being what I see in movies. The typical person going to these schools are privileged people coming from wealthy families, or those who are prepped for this type of school. I'm neither.

What are my chances of being admitted to Dartmouth or something as prestige as it?

I know this is a long post, I apologize. Thank you for your consideration.

you need to write a good essay…telling them about your life…your chances sound good as you have numerous hooks.keep the GPA up.good luck.

Berkeley is not as out of reach as you make it seem.

Thank you.
