Community College Summer Sesson

I am a freshman right now, and want to take a couple community college classes over summer that would meet my ge req's... I know the gpa doesnt transfer over, but how bout the grade itself? Thx

Grade and GPA are the same thing. You get credit though.

so the grade does not appear on the transcript?

I asked this same question to UCLA undergrad admissions. They said that the credit transfers, but not the grade. The CC grade wont be reflected in ur UCLA gpa.

so let me get this straight.... if i take a community college class, it doesnt matter if i get a C or an A right?

The C or A will not appear on your UCLA transcript. However, if you apply to graduate school, you will have to present all undergrad courses you've taken, UCLA and CC.

Yes, bfired2 said it. If the class you take at a CC is a prereq for medschool, dentistry, etc., then it can matter. However, if you're just out for a bachelor's, get all the C's in a community college you want :].

i do plan to apply to grad school... but its only a ge req... do u guys still think i would need to worry bout grad schools looking @ it?

What class is it? If it's a GE req at a CC, I wouldn't think it's that difficult to get an A or B. But yes, grad schools would see whatever grade you get for the course. I say, put the extra effort into the class and get that A, you wouldn't want to regret it later.

yeah, good question malcom, i was thinking about doing that too..

anyone know what types of classes transfer over? For example, can we get our science lab out of the way?

you should go to www.assist.org, you can find out all u need
