I heard that if you apply to private schools (such as those through Common App) that you have to send the community college transcript to EACH SCHOOL YOU APPLY TO? I always thought the grade was put onto your HS transcript and that was all.

you have to send a community college transcript. in my case, i get high school credit for my college classes (dual enrollment), so the grades are listed on my high school transcript, but i still have to send a transcript from every school that i have ever attended.

and i think it is all schools or at least most schools, and not only private schools that require all transcripts.

Be very careful with that. You don't want the college to classify you as a transfer when they see the CC transcript, so make sure they are treating you as an entering freshman (usually harder to get in as a transfer).

So just summing up everyone's comments, you send a CC transcript to each private school you are planning to apply to. Does anyone know the deadline? Are you supposed to send a transcript for each UC as well?

i dont know about the UC system. but i am applying to the university of washington, a public school, and i am pretty sure that i am sending a transcript there.

Just sent the transcripts when you send your application. Go get official copies and put one w/ each app. It's not rocket science. (Schools will accept an official copy sent by you, for if they question its validity they can always call the school's registar.)

Someone was telling me that the grades you get at Community College are based on the 5 point scale for a high school GPA... True? So even if the class and grade are on a separate transcript, they will be counted as AP courses basically for the GPA?

An earlier post stated that if you go to college right after high school, then you are a freshman. I know of several students who entered as sophomores right out of high school due to receiving a years worth of college credit for AP courses completed in high school with scores of 4 or above.
