yeah i checked there too but nothing? I guess i’ll cross my fingers haha.

I still haven’t heard either and I’ve tried to contact my counselor but she is out of office for the week…

my daughter found out via email about her decision

was it through her tulane email account? did she receive it?

actually it was through her yahoo email account on file with Tulane

Just heard back from my Admissions Counselor that I didn’t get it. Disappointing that my year off taken specifically to do community service isn’t enough.

they told me I didnt receive it, so maybe there is still hope for you! congrats to recipients: you have earned it!

cneelz, I’m sorry for you. I had no idea how competetive the CSS was, either. It varies from year to year and all depends on the pool of applicants and what they have accomplished. From the couple of examples that I have read on here, their accomplishments are extraordinary. I wouldn’t look at it as your year off was not good enough because I’m sure the experience was life-changing and has made you a better person. My daughter went to Ecuador last summer for a month to do community service, and it was a life-changing experience for her. I, too, thought that she had a very good chance of receiving one, that is until I read about the students that did receive one. A couple of years ago one of the recipients helped to start a medical clinic in Africa. My daughter specifically chose Tulane because she has such a love of service and Tulane’s philosophy is right in line with hers. But, she is still so excited about TU and the good news is, she will be surrounded by lots of people who are like-minded too. It is wonderful for TU that they are attracting this kind of student, who will hopefully go out into the world and make a difference. Is TU still a possibility for you??
