Confused...

Yeah it is. : ( wish I could have been more help. Anyway, off to bed for me. I hope you solve your dilemma!

I think CCRunner is under the impression that sanjenferrer is a guy.

Well, I am.

Oh. I completely misinterpreted the situation then. On with the gay flaming.

Does he know you're gay? Has he declared he's straight? It seems pretty gay (in the purely dictionary sense) that he took you to lunch and paid for you. Straight guys dont' do that for each other, and neither do gay guys for that matter unless theyre trying to get some. So is your intention to get laid? Then start flirting back and see where it goes.

Just be like, "You wanna get something to eat?" Unfortunately, some guys do not take it well if they think a gay guy is coming on to them, so just make sure you establish your sexual orientation and intentions from the get go and you should be good.

I know this because I actually have a few gay friends myself.

I'm straight and I paid for both dinner and a movie for my friend..but he is flat broke and spent all his money on gas and car repair

Well, that's nice of you.

I don't know what to do. If he's gay, he must be closeted because for as long as I've known him, it's never occurred to me that he is. I don't think we were flirting during the date either... just talking. Like I said, I'm so surprised. Let me ask this other boy I'm "dating" (yeah, we actually officialized that before so that's how I know with him) what he thinks.

I agree with ticklemepink. Stop stressing over damn labels and just go and enjoy yourself.

""Just be like, "You wanna get something to eat?" Unfortunately, some guys do not take it well if they think a gay guy is coming on to them, so just make sure you establish your sexual orientation and intentions from the get go and you should be good.""

Straight guys bug me sometimes. Just because one is friends with a gay indiviual of the same sex does not mean the person is/will try[ing] to come on to them.

Dude, seriously. Straight guys don't plan lunch dates. You simply say, "Yo dawg let's grab some food." Scratch your nuts as you say it for good measure.

That just made my day

I told the person I'm dating about it, and he got teary-eyed but didn't say anything. I didn't realize how much this hurt him. Had I known it was a date, I wouldn't have gone.

Im sure you care about him and did not mean to hurt him! Im sorry, SJ.
