Qualcomm Stadium is where the Chargers play and is about ~15 miles from UCSD.
The Padres play at Petco Park (the new stadium) which is downtown, and also about 15 miles from UCSD.. but more south and west... Qualcomm is farther east.

That and you can always check out the volleyball teams. Its a big sport anywhere in socal so you can always watch or play, beach or court. just my 2cents

That's a big plus too then. I used to play for my high school's volleyball team, and it'd be awesome carrying that over to college.

Okay okay...-now- I'm pretty damn sure I'm going to UCSD. :]

Yay, go Tritons!

Don't let any of us make the decision for you, wherever you go to college - it has to be YOUR choice.

Of course people here are going to be relatively Pro-UCSD, I mean it IS the UCSD board. So take that into consideration, and don't let anyone's comments sway you (whether they be good or bad) because it's not their decision it's yours.

thanks =) i appreciate this!

itd be better for me, if u smart kids didnt go to sd, but i think sd is a wonderful school, n if u do go there, i doubt any of you will regret it.

Another big sport at UCSD is the waterpolo team. They have finished high in the last few years despite being D2. (compete in D1) There is always a big turn out for the games.

i agree with lakerfan but is it a lot of competition? since i want to get into med school with a better gpa and more research/job opps

I love UCSD. I seriously think CONs don't exist for this school. The "fun" or "social life" can't be numerated, it'll depend on how you manage time, and what you make out of your surroundings. I think UCSD is only school you'll get the true experience of a college life. Because UCSD is seperated into 6 organized colleges to suit you the best, you'll have smaller classes than those other schools, (ex. UCLA, CAL, etc) meaning you SHOULD be able to know your professor better and thus learn more. Each colleges will also have different types of people, so you'll get to socialize with all sort of people, a dynamic experience instead of a static one that you'd normally have in other schools. The professors at UCSD are phenominal, and the campus is just perfection (the beach is so close!). You won't get the same experience in any other school in the nation, well maybe one or two. But I personally like schools that are a little different, and I think UCSD is a school that offers you so much opportunity to succeed in whatever that you are pursuing. I hope to see you guys there! I'm Michael at Revelle. (btw all those stereotypical comments of Revelle, that was pure BS. Revelle had hot girls man! If they are anti-social, whatevez, that just means I have to take the initiative right? haha I really like all the colleges @ UCSD. See you guys soon)
