Just as an experiment, next time he berates you and calls you derogatory names, look him in the eye with a puzzled look on your face and ask, “What is your objective in saying that to me?” That’s the question that comes to MY mind. I’d love to know the answer. Maybe it will get him to think about what he is saying.
@MWolf – As I said in my post, it is a matter of getting basic facts correct. I just didn’t want anyone(mostly the OP) quoting wrong stats and saying Stern admissions was more competitive than Harvard only to be proven wrong (which in the OP’s case could cause more lashing out from his/her father). I absolutely agree (and have said all along) that acceptance into NYU Stern very very competitive and the OP should be congratulated for his/her accomplishment.
@happy1 You’re absolutely correct - I was just being a bit facetious. On the other hand, I’m also pretty certain that, if the OP’s father cared enough about facts to check this out, he would also be aware that the OP is as smart and as accomplished as any of the kids who were accepted to colleges which he (the father) thinks are “good enough”.
