@georgiaonmymind There will be an email regardless of whether you get it or not.
@collegebobollege Historically across colleges ED applicants get fewer scholarships because as you said you’re already committed and they don’t have to entice you.
I know how unlikely it is I get it but I keep getting my hopes up. I did not learn my lesson after the EA round
@tutututututuru Were you deferred in the EA round somewhere? I’m not sure what you mean.
Yeah, I was. That’s what I meant. I got my hopes up too high. It’s all good now though
I was deferred by Virginia EA, so I know the feeling. You just have to move on and look ahead.
@whitespace hoping I’m an exception haha
If you guys don’t mind me asking, where else have you all applied?
I was accepted to Northeastern EA, deferred UVA EA, waiting on Brown, Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, and Vandy RD.
Rejected Caltech, Deferred MIT/UChicago. Applied RD to Vandy, Rice, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Harvey Mudd.
@tutututututuru Good luck to you! I’m sure you will get into a school that you like.
Thanks, you too! I’d be happy with any of them, honestly. I have my preferences but I try not to think about them because there’s no point unless I actually get into multiple. What’s your top choice?
I’m actually taking the same approach as you, I think. I’m trying not to have a first choice, because honestly who knows where I will get in. I love Northeastern and can afford it, so that’s what I’m concentrating on right now. As for the others, Georgetown is amazing.
@tutututututuru just wondering, do you have any matches or safeties?
And for me even though I got in ED I also got into Tulane EA w/ a full tuition scholarship, and had I not gotten into Vandy my top choices would’ve been brown, Harvard, and Stanford
@collegebobollege besides LSU Honors, nope.
Does anyone know what time Friday decisions will come out? Is the decision in our email, portal, or mail? I got deferred early by Stanford if anyone cares.
Deferred by Stanford is actually quite impressive, you should be proud of that.
As for the time, it looks to be random. One year I’ve seen the first results posts were at 6ish p.m. CT, another year at 2:30ish p.m. CT. So, really we have no clue.
I second what @tutututututuru said. Although it seems likely that it will be in the afternoon.
DS14 received his CV notification email on 3/7/14,Friday at around 2pm CST.
Does anyone know how Blair School of Music applicants are evaluated for CV? Do they get to allocate it or does the main admissions committee do all applicants regardless of school applied to?
Also has anyone heard from Curb? Someone said they know someone who did. Does that mean they’ve all been announced? Thanks.
@Senior2016M I’m not sure about your Blair question, although I know each school has a proportional amount of CV scholars at least.
As for Curb - here is last year’s announcement post http://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/vandybloggers/2015/03/cornelius-vanderbilt-and-chancellors-scholarship-update/ - seems to show that they were still awarding the other merit scholarships even after Chancellor’s and CV were announced. So if you were hoping for Curb and haven’t heard yet, I wouldn’t worry.
