Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship Class of 2020

I called the office just now. They said it will be out in mid March, which is no different from what the website says. I then tried to push them for a particular date, and they kept repeating mid March like 5 times. So, I doubt it will be out today, and even if they know when it does go out, it seems like they’ve been instructed not to reveal the exact date.

Haha there still is a chance. The WashU people got called by someone for their scholarship and they said end of February and early March, but it came out the next day even when the office implied almost 3-4 weeks away

Looks like 11th march, hope it is earlier

The not-knowing is the worst part.

Last year it was 156 of 5400 (2.8%).

I would imagine less apply for the CV for Blair.

So those top applicants who self selected to apply for the CV outside of the music school were selected at a rate lower than 2.8%.

The wording they use, which is true but slightly misleading is:
Competition for our merit scholarship programs continues to be intense. Awards in one of our three signature programs (Cornelius Vanderbilt, Chancellor’s and Ingram) are being made to fewer than 1% of our applicants for admission.

Best of luck and let’s hope you truly stood out at or near the top of a stupendous pool of applicants.

^agreed. “1% of our applicants for admission”. The key word is admission.
Either way, it’s selective from an already selective pool.

Yeah, anyone who applies. Not just those who get in.

@4beardolls I stand by my original prediction (see post #100.) CV notifications go out 3/11/2016.

Should we start a pool?

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to participate in a pool. That is the reason why I need a scholarship.

Ha! My post #118 was intended to tame the nerves so I probably shouldn’t join your pool :). If I were to do it, I probably would say not today. And that it might be some time next week.
You guys are all high achievers so you should find other productive things to do in the meantime :).
Or we could discuss what other merit scholarships you have applied?
I am rooting for all of you! Best of luck!!!

At least I’ve been productive this week. I’ve applied to a lot of local scholarships - I’d encourage you guys to do the same thing in your area, they might be small but you usually hear back a lot more quickly!

I feel like it will be today! Just because when you look in terms of date of the month I think it will be today

I’m thinking today. Especially because the scholarship tab showed up a week ago it makes sense for today.

@jetynz Way to stay optimistic! I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

Does anyone know when actual RD decisions are released?

Today pls

It’s getting late… do we think not today? Or have they come out later like 5pm CT?

@jetynz Look at what others have posted about past years.

It’s not late! For my three schools EA, results came out at 2, 3, and 6:30. Start despairing in 3 to 4 hours.

Lol well I just got into Michigan that was unexpected ahahaha.
