@iveeehopeful Penn would be harder to get into realistically but you really never know with the crapshoot that college admissions is. Theoretically if you feel like your were a competitive cornell candidate you could very well be a competitive Penn candidate
Also, AEM anyone? Did any AEM folks get a pin/ decision date yet or a final decision notification? It still says my pin is unable to be located which is just prolonging my nerves !
@BTAN30 I’m in the same position as you. From reading other posts, this seems to be normal and we’re just waiting still.
I applied to Cornell as an early decision applicant back in 2014. My application was deferred and then eventually rejected. Does anyone think this will have any affect on my current application? I applied to AAP, and my portfolio is much stronger now than when I was in high school. Do they defer all early decision applicants or did I have a chance…curious to hear some opinions.
@brolson11 I’d say it wouldn’t affect your decision at all. They made it very clear that they don’t keep any of your application materials from previous years except for the standardized test scores. Even if they still have the admission staff’s comments on your previous application in their system, which is likely the case, your much stronger portfolio is gonna show how much you’ve improved and impress them even more. Just out of curiosity, if you applied in 2014, shouldn’t you be a junior already and not eligible for transferring?
I have a similar question to @brolson11. Does anyone know how previous accpetnaces/rejections/waitlists factor into transfer admissions?
is there a way to appeal a rejection?
@iveeehopeful don’t worry we are in the same boat, it all goes down to dumb luck
@theroadishome
I mean you could call them up and yell at them if you are rejected, but that does no one any good. Like you could always apply again, but you cannot appeal a rejection (as far as I know).
ILR here…still no pin
Rejected AEM
@chingchingli I ended up withdrawing from my previous institution! I left as a first semester junior and as a result it is like that semester never happened.
@skrrtskrrt Aw, I’m sorry. I’m sure you have a ton of other great options! When did you get your decision?
FYI they don’t care if you signed about for that Cornell Transfer social network, I asked and its just a way to connect to current students and applicants. You guys need to stop being so paranoid lol.
I feel like there is a lot more people that said that they were receiving decisions today than people who posted what their decision was.
Also has anyone gotten notification saying they are getting a decision Tuesday, May 2?
Today was a rejection day, so it is likely that not a lot of people would post about it.
@ILRTransfer3 lol nah I went to a super elite quasi-public HS in NYC.
CALS Applicant still havent gotten an update on my transeval or pin
