Ummm I'm not sure wat to say to that. I'm a transfer too and ur the only one I've ever heard of that happening to. They only give A+s to one or two people per class so I really don't think they'de curve other colleges up...I'm not sure wat happened there. Are you sure that happened? Plus ur gpa doesn't transfer between schools so...

My school doesn't give A+. The highest grade is an A. (WEIRD)

Is that why your grade was bumped up?

As far as I know most schools don't give A+s...mine doesn't.

just an FYI: the GTs at university of florida this year have it the best. they have an ABC grading system, and no B+, C+, etc etc...

so some people might get an 82 = B- at one college and not meet GT requirements, while at UF, an 82 is a B, thus qualifying for GT requiremets.

good thing next year UF is doing away with the easy system.

mine doesn't either. but cornell does. i don't know what happened all i know is that they acknowledged an "A" for classes that i got "A-'s". if gpa's don't transfer its not a big deal and i dont see why you are so concerned about it.

lol o don't think im concerned at all. Just confused. It's cool tho nevermind

yeah man i wasn't trying to degrade your post i was just saying i have no clue how it works, wangdirty was concerned about transfer information and i was trying to give him/her all the info i had about the fact that cornell tries to help transfers out.

When is the meal plan thing do? The site asks about my housing, which IDK yet.

Once you get assigned housing, then you can sign up for a meal plan!

Blue--Glad to hear you've picked Cornell and are going ahead with the GT. Good luck making the transition! I wonder how difficult it will be to tell your friends at your present school...

To all of the senior members at cornell currently:

what are the advantages of doing the GT instead of going regular/early decision?

You do know that u don't have a choice right? lmao Ur either a GT or ur not...

you don't get to choose at all. either they accept you, or waitlist you, or GT you. those are the 3 options.

figs get off CC and do your essays

lol i just laughed really hard when I read that. Stop stalking me, I have a few months until that haha

I wanna do the essays but its harddddddddddd to concentrate on straight work every day of finals lmao

do you still have to "apply" to Cornell if you're a GT? Like, regular transfers have to write all those essays and forms, and teacher recs again, do GT have to go through all that again even though they are guaranteed as long as they meet the GPA? Thanks

GTs just have to keep up with the requirements...no reapplying

so...basically, you just have your present school confirm your gpa and tha'ts it? if so..SWEET. hahaha.

false figgy.

password, you have to send a bunch of stuff in, a special common application for GTs (which is relatively simple- no essays!), a midterm grade report, an official transcript, a sheet signed by your professors saying what you got in the class, and a sheet signed by your advisor, and apply for fin aid if you want. if you kept up with the course and gpa requirements, you're in unless you don't send in this stuff on time. and if you get in, you have to send your final transcript as well @ the end of the year. i know it was a pain for me cuz i had to get all of the crap together during my finals week.

honestly that was not a big deal...It's logical for them to want info on grades...etc. therefore, aside from that, the process is very simple! lol the FA stuff was a little annoying for me... so you should be absolutely fine, no essays..not a big hassle! just get good grades :)
