i c sum1 has a grudge about the forms lol. I just meant that ur not applying like a normal transfer. You just have to send in ur info and ur grades. It's rather simple

BlueDevil--Thanks for spelling out the paperwork for GTs in detail. I read somewhere on the boards that somebody had to write a short paragraph about "why I still want to go to Cornell" or something like that? Maybe that depends on the college, but it seems like GTs shouldn't have to do any more writing at this point--gosh; they've already worked like crazy their first year in college, have kept in touch with Cornell the whole way, allowed Cornell to call the shots on what courses they would take, etc.,--shouldn't that be enough already? Ha.

Acerbic, thanks for letting us know that the paperwork may sound like a lot, but is nothing compared to all the application hassle of senior year in h.s.

Why do professors have to sign off on courses, since a formal transcript is already sent anyway? Is that just for the midterms spring semester? And why does the advisor have to sign anything? I'm afraid some advisors will/may want the GT student to stay at their school, especially if the advisor is a faculty member in your major?

The professors sign the spring midterm report! They just need an up to date grade making sure GT’s are on track, it's not really official…but they still require us to send in a final official transcript

lol my advisor gave me a high five, i wouldnt worry about it

what is the date to make your final decision whether you are going or not? till when do they give you to tell them if you will be attending in the fall...
how much is the deposit?
how does housing and such work?

for GTs, we have until june 1st.

deposit = $400 and this applies to your tuition.

housing: information is given in detail, especially transfer housing, in the packet that you recieved (which you should have by now, if not, you really need to contact them lol).

who do i contact and what do i say

I have a question. I was accepted as a GT to College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for fall of 2008. Basically Cornell is calling the shot about which classes to take. I will probably get all of Cornell's classes except their special Bio course, which is Biological Principles. Since I am a Bio major, I emailed Cornell and asked them to choose all of my classes for me. They are making me take Molecular Biology in my freshman year. The problem is, my school Stony Brook, will probably not allow me to take Molecular Bio until I take a prequisitive for it. When I emailed Cornell about that, they avoided the question and were like well you can take a similar class during this summer in a university. I can't take a class because high school still is not over. I do not know what to do, but I just have a feeling that I will not be accepted since I will only have a semester of molecular bio. Anyone have advice.

You can take that class during the Summer at a local college (community or state probably). So I suggest searching around and seeing if that is a possibility. It probably is. GL! and Congrats on this great opportunity! (coming from a GT (ILR) about to go yaaaaa lol. It's all worth it!)

its times like these i feel good to have ian.

Get off the boards wave ur supposed to be outside. Good timing on my side so now I can catch u in the act lol. allllllright

its times like these you need to mind your own business. =]

and to add to that:

its times like these it needs to STOP RAINING dammit.

You can stand under my umbrella (ella ella, eh eh eh)

My favorite is when she's silver. lmao I love inside jokes on CC

rofl. you realize ppl on CC are prolly wondering *** we're talking about.

That's wat makes us cool. We r exlusive.

blazinyan300--Some summer college classes begin in early July and go until early August. You still might be able to take something. Check it out. As it sounds like you've been doing, always check with Cornell for GT approval on any course you take hoping to transfer if you're committed to making the GT work out.

Good luck!

where are you going to apply to live (dorm) in cornell
and why?

**where are you going to apply to live (dorm) in cornell?

west campus - alice house

**and why?

cause its the s hit

blazinyan300: The Stony Brook bio department just majorly overhauled the intro bio sequence; BIO 202 (Molecular and Cellular Bio) doesn't have any prerequisites now besides Level 3 on the Math Placement Exam. Coreqs are calc and gen chem, but I'm assuming you'll be taking those anyway. 202 doesn't have a lab attached anymore though; the labs are now separate 2 credit courses (BIO 204 and 205).
