Just got in! Applied to to CALS for Development Sociology. Found out Tuesday but just checked my email this morning!
Yay! Congrats!
Congrats! @guudluck do you mind posting your stats? Development Sociology was my second choice major!
Rejected ILR non-To - got an email last night that I only noticed now - Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck guys!
THANKS!
@keepthatsmile Thanks so much! I had a 3.91 GPA for my first semester in college (all A’s or A+'s but A+ and A had same weight and had one A- in gen bio which was my hardest class). I submitted this semester’s grades which were also all A’s except a B+ in gen chem but my professor noted that I was likely to finish with an A. I am a current psych major on a premed track. My SAT was a 1480. I did Model UN and was very involved in Hillel in college. I also had a lot of high school extra curriculars. I was an AP scholar with distinction with a 5 in BC calc, Stat and Enviro and a 4 in Psych. Let me know if you want to know anything else! Good Luck! Hope to see you in the fall!
Anyone here who is still waiting for the decision that finished the checklist around mid February? It looks like people who applied on April are receiving their decisions, does that mean that people who have applied earlier have high chance of getting rejected? :\
Same, applied for CALS Info Science and haven’t heard back
I applied on March 15th and the only supplemental material I submitted after the March 15th deadline was the Midterm Report in the first few days of April. I’m not going to worry too much as that would be useless, it is what it is. The process is really weird though there doesn’t seem to be a pattern.
For schools that have more than one major such as Arts&Sciences, say the division accepts 100 applicants, can the number be from any major within A&S or are specific numbers accepted for each major such as Government, Computer Science, etc?
Do certain majors within Arts&Sciences typically accept more applicants?
For each undergraduate division at Cornell, for the ones that have multiple majors, using A&S as an example, do Government and Physics have separate admissions?
It wouldn’t make sense to base a decision because of when you applied. Some people get their decisions earlier then others. It just is how it works.
I applied to Dyson in feb and it seems like very few people got their decisions from Dyson. We just have to be patient
Which division of Cornell and which major?
Anyone know why Arts&Sciences was lower last year compared to the years prior?
Also, since Applied Economics is affiliated with both Life CALS and the Johnson School of Business, do the AEM applicants apply to the Johnson School?
Im a AEM applicant, @Yankeefan20 and yes I applied to the Johnson school
Last year CAS accepted under 40 transfers for Fall Transfers though it was higher in years prior to that. Using 40 as an example, the number is allocated to each major within A&S so Math may accept a few, CS a few, Government a few?
Yea, I think it is that for CAS. CAS always has the most applicants and i think its a combined number of how many kids got in from all majors within CAS.
What’s you first choice and how does Developmental Sociology related to Agriculture an d Life Sciences?
